FE!N went recurrent one week in March, but they let it back into the chart only for it to hog up a space in the 55-60 range every week. If they're going to do that, then might as well let Last Night and Cruel Summer chart. 1

The reason why FE!N is still charting is because it's a current single that it's still increasing on radio: 95 +2 Travis Scott - FE!N (feat. Playboi Carti) +0.20 https://kworb.net/radio/ 1

And why was that song brought back from recurrency, but not On My Mama, which was still gaining on Pop for several weeks after it went "recurrent" on the Hot 100. These cases (and many more) show that the rule is inconsistently applied. The recurrent rules should either be all or nothing. Either there should be no exceptions to the recurrent rules, or all songs that are rising should be included on the Hot 100.

Støned Posted May 29 Posted May 29 for Cruel Summer, it had a great run, but it deserved to be Taylor's longest charting song. Now, I only need its parent album to be her longest charting album in the top 10 to piss off the haters.
Peak Now Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Taylor Swift's Cruel Summer has officially left the Billboard Hot 100 after 54 weeks. The track first charted for 2 weeks in 2019 as an album track and was always a favorite of fans and critics alike, remaining one of the most-streamed songs from her discography. In 2023, the song gained traction on TikTok during the Eras Tour, leading to its reentry on the charts in June. Shortly after, the song was officially serviced to radio in the US, and ultimately peaked at #1 for four non-consecutive weeks in October-November 2023. The single has also spent 10 weeks at #1 on Pop Airplay and 12 weeks at #1 on overall airplay. It is Taylor's second-biggest single yet (behind Shake It Off) and her longest-charting single. On Spotify, the track has amassed 2.1 billion streams, placing it firmly in the top 70 most streamed songs ever. Anyone who was around in 2019 likely remembers the anguish we all felt when Taylor's tasteless ass chose ME! and You Need To Calm Down as lead singles for Lover instead of this undeniable bop. Four years later, the fans were finally proven right. 3

FolkLover1989 Posted May 29 Posted May 29 It's Top 15 in radio and still doing great in streams. BB will change the rules for their fave Wallen but can't see Taylor winning This would have rose whole summer but well

Kavish Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Cruel Summer is now synonymous with 2023. It's impossible to listen to the song without thinking of The Eras Tour and Taylormania. A phenomenon. 1

Støned Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Me! and YNTCD walked (and got crucified), so that Cruel Summer could fly.. It's a good thing that she wasn't able to release this as a single during the Lover era, it wouldn't perform as well back then as it would have right now. 2
