Clearly some ATRL member doesn't have friend who stood for them :coffee:

Yes I don't know what's like having a "friend" like this thank God :jonnycat::clap3:

So this is why Taylor sang TWILY and Fresh Out The Slammer.

I knew the surprise songs were something.

Glad he doesn't agree, but they shouldn't have talked about it.

ATRL needs to stop expecting straight people to strongly comdemn homophpbia. It's so unrealistic.

Worst comment in this thread, congrats.

The way its literally his brother interviewing him so he didn't even have to comment on the situation at all :rip:

What's going on with the United States, honestly? If 5 years ago someone said the AWFUL/HATEFUL things that man said, he would have been out of that team almost immediately or at least the repercussions would have been bigger. Now, lots of people are trying to justify him.

It's not like he talked about his religious views in a normal way. The only thing he had left to say was something like "I f+cking hate black people".

America is doomed.

This is unfortunate but unsurprising. The upper echelons of society are full of people who disagree on everything but manage to be cordial if not outright friends. It's giving RBG and Scalia being close.

Of course, every once in a while there are actual consequences for this: people tend to discount how badly Ellen's defense of her friendship of George W Bush damaged her credibility before Dakota Johnson struck the final blow.

So he's nice to people he considers worthy and the folks who are beneath him or marginalised aren't worthy of his respect.

I've always had an inkling this Travis has no backbone. In every interview he seems to be vying for America's favourite pet. He already picked the most maximalist popstar to latch himself on to. Good going. I've no patience for the spineless n privileged. Screw him and his teammate.

He tried to clean it up saying he doesn't agree with his views. Ehhhh

"I don't think that I should judge him by his views, especially his religious views of how to go about life. That's just not who I am."

Lame response tbh. Maybe the gaylors made some points about him!

(Lol no but :rip:)

I didn't get support vibes tbh, more like a neutral statement to avoid causing a business conflict. Doesn't really justify it but considering his profession it's better than I'd expect.

This is so crazy to me how some people will always find excuses for religious people's hatred.

I don't care if that person treats his friends with respect. If he HATES people because of their sexual orientation, skin color, gender, etc… he is a f piece of **** that deserves the worst and he should be called out by everyone.

Saying « I don't agree with his views » is stupid af and not enough.

He is spewing typical moderate stuff. It must be easy to brush off comments that do not affect you, the lack of backbone and thought on that conversation. :deadbanana4:

But did anyone expect anything else really?

I went and watched Harrison's speech and it's scary to think that so many people still hold these views and that he was emboldened enough to publicly speak this way. Not to mention it was so unnecessarily political which is not what commencement speeches should even be about

I'm so glad that I live in a country where religion doesn't have a chokehold on politics and society the way it does others

He's such a people's pleaser, and some situations are way too complex for that. Here he acknowledges how bad the comments were, disagrees with it, but clearly doesn't want to get into bad blood with his team mate and proceeds to praise his interactions with him and how he respects personal freedom and tolerates it (when it's clearly because he hardly embodies anything that challenges that persons' view, such as being gay himself). You just can't PR your way out of it and please both sides

Clearly you're fatherless, motherless and a total excuse for a human being

This is SUCH a lame response and I'm judging the **** out of him for it. He would've been better off not opening his mouth than saying this mess. Playing both sides at its most annoying.

I mean, he has to show comradery to his teammate, he still clearly disagreed with everything he said except the right to love his family and such so...

I was recently told you are who you associate with so Taylor having another terrible boyfriend who defends homophobia and misogyny reflects pretty poorly on her, I'm afraid.
