toxicgenie Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Facts. Renaissance is the only Beyonce album I can listen to from start to finish.
TipToe Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I personally don't hold Renny to such high regards. CC is not a perfect recordt but at least the lyrics tell you something, the narrative is there... on Renaissance you have a sonically exciting experience and a lot of fluff lyric-wise where she sings about literally nothing, that bothers me. 1

ICLDXU4HS Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Ya Ya is the only song on CC that can have a fair fight with the absolute cream of the crop of Renaissance.
Superbitch Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Never liked beys albums and I love Rena. Very fun and you can tell she's having a great time. All the songs slap the new one just gives me let's try country now they'll have to give me that aoty award I want so bad(confirmed in that cringe lyric). I think that's why I love Rena so much bey just having fun and giving us bop after bop after bop.

Enough with those multi layered vocal runs She thinks it gives Michael Jackson layered vocals but his were innovative and his ability to layer the same note with various subtle differences is something she doesn't seem capable of delivering. It just sounds like she's in a girl group and every member is herself trying to outshine herself.
Domination Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Tea. I actually think CC is going to get memory holed and will be looked back on as one of Bey's lesser albums.
PopMusicJunkie Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Both are different bodies of work that stand on their own. I thoroughly enjoy both, but I'm glad Renny was released first.
Jay07 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I enjoy Rennaisance more since it's closer to my sensibilities but I can admit Cowboy Carter is the better crafted album.

Daglazzo Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Wow I remember all of Beyoncé fans were claiming it's her best body of work, they were saying it's better than lemonade. And believe me I don't mean 5 or 10 people, but much much more. Now it's worse than renaissance? Hmmm interesting shift
Aethereal Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Beyonce fans always switch on her albums. Remember when Lemonade was their favorite. I agree that Ren is better and will end up being bigger.
Sprite Posted May 27 Posted May 27 (edited) I mean yeah country will never be better than dance Edited May 27 by Sprite 1
Green Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Both great albums but I agree. Renaissance is easily Beyonce's best album
Acuminatus Posted May 31 Posted May 31 (edited) Not a country fan so for me Renaissance was always going to have more replay value. I do appreciate that CC had less talk singing as compared to Renaissance, but the album was too bloated for me so it feels more like a chore to listen to the whole thing. Also I think because this year is more stacked, it's easier to just move on to the next big album. Though I did think based on Texas Hold Em blowing up on TikTok this era would be bigger, but unfortunately the country audience are probably just going to keep streaming Morgan Wallen. XDNA Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Renny is stellar and I still listen to it regularly. TBH I think Bey feels the same and that's the reason we got Renny first.
boysandbombs Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Gurl a ****** will always want a sick beat - miss biased on this good forum
