"is the music good?"

"IT CHARTED"

Thank God you have critics to tell you what is good or not right? Because i have yet to see a single argument about how Taylor's music is supposedly bad that isn't based on "somebody said it" :coffee2:

But keep seething :fan2:

With love, I think you're projecting. Do you know how many artists I don't personally enjoy are ridiculously successful? Multiple. Do you know how many of their fans are personally annoying? Only Swifties. I'm talking Justin Bieber for instance. He's been ridiculously successful the entire time I've been a fan of pop culture. And his fans NEVER elicited the type of response Swifties elicit from me. Because they were mostly kids who didn't feel the need to compete over absolutely every f*cking thing and treat art and music like a sport, like you yourself said. I'm talking about Bieber's imperial phase, like Purpose, where I personally stanned 1D too.

I want you to understand the contrast, because I don't think you're fully grasping it. You guys are the most annoying fanbase in the world and Taylor's achievements have nothing to do with it. I never got the Adele hype. Never. I find her music incredibly boring, even though I think she's incredibly talented. I use maybe two-three of her songs. I never understood why soccer moms went so crazy over the same music over and over. It NEVER bothered me in the slightest.

Perhaps consider that if everyone else is annoyed at y'all, y'all are the problem! Not even Taylor herself (though I do think she encourages your behavior).

The DELUSION :rip:

Every single fanbase is bad in their own way, you're focusing on Swifties because you hate Taylor. Other fanbases are making fun of Taylor every day, making fun of her previous eating disorder, calling her "Tayble", saying she's talentless, making fun of her mom having cancer,... i could go on and on. But SURE, keep pretending Swifties are somehow uniquely bad, you're definitively not extremely biased at all :toofunny3:

Also, the fact that you think Taylor's music is "the same thing over and over" shows that you know NOTHING about her discography, as i said, you're just a blind hater. Fearless, 1989 and Folklore alone are 3 completely different albums with completely different sounds.

It's crazy that even with a end-stage configuration she's still able to fill stadiums with full capacity everywhere she goes, normally it's about 70-80% with that stage setting

Your post does not apply to me so imma let it fly, I don't stan her for her success; I'm a fan of the music. And I never antagonize other bases or demean other artists. Was just offering my perspective on the state of affairs, and I hear + respect your rebuttal. I think the people annoyed by the fanbase aren't willing to diagnose why they get annoyed.

i do believe it's possible to be secure in the "level" of success of artists you're a fan of and find the arrogance of some of Swift's fans to be off putting. Not denying that at all! I just think more of it stems from feelings of inadequacy. On both ends. Swift fans feel like they have to defend the "lack of" quality of her catalogue (according to her detractors) by citing numerical/objective measurements, and Swift haters feel like they have to defend the "lack of" success of their favs catalogue (according to some Swift fans) by citing more subjective measurements. Both sides are really just retaliating against each other in a never ending cycle. But if you follow the rabbit hole, you're more likely to find that Swifties are on the defense more than they are on the offense. They just defend hard af.

I don't know that it applies to you personally. I haven't read that many of your comments. But I think, with love and respect, that this reply and the idea that everyone hates Taylor/her fans because they're jealous of her success is more of the same sport-mind when it comes to music.

It's certainly a thing! Especially on ATRL. The minute an artist is successful, fans of other artists start hating them, but it's usually reserved for pettiness on ATRL or stan twitter. And I see Swifties thinking that ANY sort of criticism means people are jealous as if that can be the only reason people are annoyed.

I completely disagree that Swifties are more on the defense than the offence, but we can agree to disagree

Who said that's not the case? All fanbases are toxic. Have you never heard the theory that 1% of humanity is absolute trash? Gather enough individuals and inevitably there's gonna be assh*les. But that's absolutely not what I'm talking about.

Can you read my comment again? LMAO. "The same thing over and over" was referring to ADELE'S MUSIC. What can I expect of people who cannot even read four sentences properly?

The way I realized this when they equated entering a Taylor thread and mentioning Taylor as the same as entering a Taylor thread and mentioning Beyonce or Gaga

Poor little brain couldn't compute

That update account is digging the number from past report and make this I'm sure, but the meltdown in this thread... Surely these number stuff is some math work and it may have some difference between the reality, but her Sweden leg indeed is one of the biggest show in North Europe, with 3 shows above 60k attendance. Of course media wanna discusss this event bcs it directly boost the local economy.

And if yall wanna bring up the US audience in the crowd, her Paris show will still be 130k+ attendance without Americans, and 150k+ in Stockholm. Also people from Belgium, Norway, Finland, Denmark is attending these two legs bcs Eras Tour didnt visit those countries. And let's not act like all of your favs show in other countries didnt have americans...

Beyoncé and Lady Gaga are truly in a league of their own when it comes to artistry. They're very specific in the audience they target. Taylor is a 34-year old woman cosplaying as a forever 21-year old who makes general pop music for the masses. Of course that's going to be the top-seller in any general public setting. She's pretty much selling a delusional American teenager girlhood dream that is sadly dead outside of Taylor's mythos she's created for herself.

The artistry in question being Joanne and Chromatica :deadbanana:

They're definitely underestimating the % of american attendees for Europe shows given that most of them got tickets from stubhub
