It's rumoured that she isn't eligible because she has already submitted for Best New Artist 3 times (you can only submit for BNA a maximum of 3 times) but they might make an exception. Tate McRae might not be eligible for the same reason.

The song is already an undeniable global hit. Sabrina is currently everywhere, with the industry embracing her, and megastars like Adele and Katy Perry giving their stamp of approval. Most music publications have praised the song as well. On Goldderby, experts also have the song very high on their ballot as a predicted winner of this award alongside Texas Hold Em, Fortnight & We Can't Be Friends.

As of now Espresso "only" peaked at #4 but I have no doubt that the song will climb to the #1 spot on the Hot 100 eventually.

So what does ATRL think?

literally no one with credibility in the industry and/or Grammy voters give a crap about Katy Perry's endorsement, PLEASE be serious :bibliahh:

"Espresso" is great but I wish the Grammy's would stop becoming awards for success. Does it have the best vocals? Lyrics? Production? Melody? Song writing? (Actually now that I write that and think about it - yes "Espresso" does! Lmao, come through double-shot coconut milk flat white ROTY)

rock or ac would have to embrace it first tbh.

since 2010:

rolling in the deep #1 ac

hello #1 ac

bad guy #2 rock

everything i wanted #1 rock

about damn time #1 hot ac

flowers #1 ac

this.

has there been a youthful song won as ROTY?

Maybe Best Pop Solo Performance, but for her a nomination is first step

This. Best pop solo is her best bet, but at this point just being nominated for anything would be huge for her.

Plus this year has been wild with so many big names dropping and the charts being on fire. The Grammys will be insane.

I am curious if she's eligible for BNA still as that's the only other one I could see her getting nommed for at this point. I know she was submitted last year. (Kind of wish that one could go to Chappell Roan though).

I don't know if people care much about Adele's opinion either to be honest, but good for Sabrina for finally getting some praise

It deserves it so far but imo no because it's TOO bubblegum pop

Methinks it'll be Houdini instead. :bird:

It's an incredible song with already big success, I think it could have a shot. :celestial5:

And for the gworls coming for "working late cuz I'm a singer"....it's low-key the best lyric in the verses, please. it's sexy, confident, and unique. :clap3:

I'm happy for her but where was this energy for Doja?

This is why I have a hard time believing it'll win.  Nom? Maybe.

But it's basically same vein as Doja earlier stuff.  If she couldn't win general field category…I'm doubting Sabrina will.

But I like the song, so I wouldn't mind if she did.  Just feels like a big goal for the type of song it is.
