28 is a few for you? Disgusting.

So is 21, especially coming from someone who is apparently so above the numbers and charts a few weeks ago, yet throwing all that to the wind when she found out that she won't be debuting at #1. Hypocrisy is far more disgusting :coffee2:

The way none of the Swifties realize that this was all as much a boost to Billie as Taylor, if not moreso since the court of public opinion seems to think Taylor's team is scum at this point. The Swifties are just smelling their own farts on twitter thinking they "owned" Billie. Hilarious.

"The court of public opinion"

Literally no one cares about this but Stan's. And if anything the only non Stan's I saw talking about this were a few CHIEFS fans asking swifties which version to buy to help 💀💀💀

So she truly has no reason for her gimmicks at this point other then to exploit her fans is what you're saying?

So when Billie was encouraging her fans to continue to buy multiple copies of her album, that wasn't exploiting her fans?

Whenever you speak of the "public" and how they feel, I need you to take a step back and actually realize who that public has made their most streamed & consumed artist right now. This isn't a Katy vs. Gaga scenario, where the public actually turned on the latter (in 2013 at least). The public has been and continues to support Taylor like no other artist right now.

I thought "Taylor is a mastermind and calls all her own shots". Which is it, that or "this was her team"? Y'all switch the narrative more than any fanbase I've seen in all of pop culture, it's wild actually.

The "Taylor swift is a calculated mastermind" narrative is an OTH narrative.  At least have your facts straight.  Every swiftie knows she has an excellent team behind her.

Is there an actual incentive to go #1 on Billboard? Like is there an award or some payout to labels? Or it is just for a record?
Either way Ursula Swift wants it all :coffee2:

It's mostly for labels and business meetings. They spend a lot so they can say someone when number 1 (and most people respect it outside of beefs :eli: )

what affected the chart race was the 140k-150k albums she decided to ship this week during Billie's release week :cm:

If Billie had released her album 2 weeks ago, Taylor would have shipped them 2 weeks ago

That's my issue with her as a fan, I just can't comprehend her behavior. I'm gonna paste something I said in another thread the other day, when all of this hadn't even happened.

It's simple as that, she does many thing just because she can, and when you're that big I think you should also know your worth, your level and know that sometimes it's okay not to do things just because you have the power to do them, it's okay to let other people have their moment, but I guess that "considerate" attitude wouldn't have gotten her to this level.

I love her for many things but mostly because though her lyrics she comes across as someone who knows human nature and feelings very well, and for the same reason I can not empathize with her because her behavior doesn't align with the type of person I perceive through her art.

As of today, she's proven she's a great business woman, she's a whole billionaire with a 20 years career, she could do less and still be on top, richer and bigger than anyone, and to me someone who has all that should have the grace and the sensitivity to let her peers have their moment, which is becoming more and more impossible with her amount of releases + her fanbase behavior.

At the end of the day, I think it's all in her Miss Americana doc, despite her infinite success, she still seeks validation through prizes, consensus and numbers, which is something most of artists do, but not to that level, and that has been transferred to her fans through the years.

I find her behavior (based on the limited public information) when it comes to Olivia and Billie baffling. Even Kim and Kanye to a lesser extent. She's clearly in the right in the latter, but even selfishly she would have been better served by ignoring them.

BILLIE BOWING WITH PERSONAL BEST DEBUT

hitsdd_photo_gal__photo_479560206.jpg

We can now project that Billie Eilish's HIT ME HARD AND SOFT (Darkroom/Interscope) will debut with her biggest week yet, surpassing the opening of her first album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, which started off with just over 313k in April 2019.

How much more will HMHAS deliver? Watch for our final Top 50 projections this afternoon.

Tracks from the album are also making a major impact at DSPs, with "Lunch" #1 at Spotify Global and "Chihiro" in the Top 5. Eilish also has three songs in the Apple Music overall Top 10.

At least 315k for Billie :clap3: All beefs and narratives aside, this is VERY impressive - especially for a Gen Z act.

Did Billie say herself that she doesn't care about the sales?

I get the feeling there must've been some kind of contractual agreement for Taylor to own her masters under UMG. Maybe by owning her masters, she might've had to compromise with UMG letting them do whatever they want with her sales?

Probably and honestly that works on her favour since it's more sales and such.

Anyway, this week will be a win for both ladies either way regardless of who is at #2 so :clap3:

How is any of this "working their ass off"? If anything, it's killing the creativity.

I don't think there was anything creative done this week to boost the sales, no. All of it was done just to get the numbers up and to earn more money.

This was a wild week. Billie was able to stop this the first moment she saw that HMHAS wouldn't be #1, despite the incredible sales.

Obviously a certain chart-obsessed artist was gonna fight, Billie was able to avoid "damaging" her image and looking like a hypocrite, but things have already happened. :duck:

I wonder if Taylor has a threshold to reach first before being allowed to re-release Taylor's Versions under UMG/Republic.

Interesting talking point!
