Billie Eilish the nepobaby my ass. Looks like Taylor and Billie were both privileged then

KKCuteCat Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Some people here acted as if it's the end for Billie's career when she's selling 300k. Girl, it's 300k, not 30k. Position is just for someone who is obsessed with the charts. The bottom line is she's making profit . Feel sorry for Billie? Girl, she's extremely successful. Feel sorry for yourself instead. 3 1
Nein Posted May 22 Posted May 22 5 minutes ago, Gaia said: That's factually not true when a chunk are late shipped albums. 1) That's how the system works with counting for consumption according to Billboard. This is a 5th week sale of repeated tracks against a fresh new set. 2) Even if they were late, and the "chunk" is left undefined. It's your word against mine against the report. 3) In the alternative, even without the alleged "late shipment" physicals, Taylor's streaming numbers still did better overall. 165k versus 143k. My original sentence still holds. Congratulations to Taylor for moving more units & seeing higher consumption than the 2nd. Anyways, numbers may still change and Billie may still move more units at the end of the day with her new pushes. We'll see.

The things one has to read on this site how many queer artists debut at #1 with more than 300k units? 3 4
EarthJang Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I was hoping Billie would get it, but seeing THOTS suffer is a different kind of satisfaction
Aethereal Posted May 22 Posted May 22 This will bring more promo to Billie following next week though. Too bad for Taylor, if she was like Madonna in 80s she'd block Billie in every European and LATM market too but lucky will never reach her global power. So US it is. 2

Aethereal Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Still, Billie has two Oscars. No Billboard peak will change that. No wonder this capitalist narcissist never got an Oscar nomination just because you cannot buy Oscars like you buy Grammys or critics. With all those AOTY surely one nominations should've been there. 2 1 6

Life Savers Posted May 22 Posted May 22 3 minutes ago, tetrachord said: how many queer artists debut at #1 with more than 300k units? How does that deny the point of my post? Billie's numbers are indeed great. The album will be showered with awards a year from now. An underdog or underpriviledged artist, however, she's categorically not. Again, this is a 22-year-old white woman with higher sales, awards count, and GP acclaim than a good chunk of artist will ever have. 2
