byzantium Posted May 18 Share Posted May 18 The answer is because Taylor has done a far better job on the marketing side of things building a fanbase and interest in her records. When artists build upon momentum, we see impressive results (see CC's debut). But a lot of the female artists out there right now are not playing the game at the level of Taylor…which is fine. It's pretty clear that Taylor has her sights set on her career comparing to the all time greats and it's amazing to witness. I do not think Ariana, Billie, or Beyonce really want that and that's ok.
