Billie Eilish is releasing her anticipated(?) 3rd studio album "Hit Me Hard And Soft" this Friday after having announced it in early April and promoted it with excessive snippets & beauty shots since.

Predict her first day Spotify streams!

Hit Me Hard and Soft - Wikipedia

Some things to take into consideration:

- The album consists of 10 tracks, no pre-release singles were released

- Her previous album, Happier Than Ever, debuted with a disappointing 35.5M first day streams. Keep in mind it has +60% the amount of tracks compared to this new album

- HTE had 5 pre-release and on-release highly playlisted singles. The album also had some abrasive, unlikely to be repeated Spotify promo on release, including immediate TTH and NMF covers and #1 placement, as well as an unprecedented "Happier Than Ever genre" button on all users' homepage linking to the album.

- Some recent debuts by her peers with similar amounts of tracks:

GUTS - 60.9M (12 tracks)

Eternal Sunshine - 58.1M (13 tracks, 1 is an interlude)

but then there's also...

Radical Optimism - 20.5M unfiltered (11 tracks; filtered unknown due to songs missing the chart. :rip:)

Predict carefully, ATRL, as responses will be bumpedT accordingly in due time.

I'm gonna go with 46.8 Million if we're gonna play this game. Hoping it crosses 50.

Anything below 60M would be disappointing considering her status as a Gen Z icon:giraffe:

Even with the fact that Happier Than Ever had a lot of pre-releases singles, i feel hype now is bigger.

The Close Friends thing [+10million followers "just" cuz of it) and etc (Closer Friends should've been made closer to album release than when they did it tho)

My filtered prediction is 40m. Don't see Billie crossing 60m with only 10 tracks.

I honestly don't think she'll surpass 40M at most. that would be a respectable debut anyway.

It will bury Post Malones last debut and block TTPD from AOTY

55-65 since it seems like there's a lot of hype even from non Stans

between 50M and 60M is what is expected.. if she does more than 70M it's a gag, if less than 50M a flop.. yea it's only 10 tracks but she's one of the biggest artists among the new generation. I feel like there is demand for her albums, her previous one underperformed because of the terrible rollout with lots of singles, i expect this to do bigger numbers since she's not dropping any singles (which could have ruined her hype)

If by surprised you mean I forgot this was coming bc there has been no noise after she announced it a month ago except for eco vinyl gate then yes

I guess over 50 million, not having any singles before could actually help her because people get to choose which songs they like.

Around 50 million.

With only 10 tracks I'll go with 46m.

I think it will actually start off with similar "decent" numbers to HTE. Her diehard fans will be listening at midnight, but the lack of singles might mean it will take longer to become a cultural event. It will be interesting to see if this strategy gives longevity, or if the streams fizzle out
