Taylor/JLo/Selena/Britney: Most Vocally Challenged?

These girls have always gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to vocal criticism, but who is the actual worst, and who is the better?

Selena. Britney was an unironically good singer for the first bit of her career, Jlo has at least improved, and Taylor is generally the most consistent of this bunch and the only one that's not a habitual lip syncer. Its a clear win for ms Gomez

JLo struggles a lot .... Taylor isn't as bad as they say and Britney does manage to stay on key. I don't think Selena is a bad singer

I agree.

Selena vocal abilities are terrible, I understand it might be side effect of her disease because even she speaks her voice is weak and shaky.

J.Lo had some OK moments, depending on a key, however her voice is very think and lack depth and tone.

Britney at the start of her career, before the "baby voice" had nice mature and full tone, even as a kid when she sang in Star Search or Mickey Mouse club.

Taylor is consistent because she hardly goes out of her comfort zone. In higher key her tone is flat.

However not everybody can be Mariah or Whitney and thats fine.

I don't listen to them much. My criticism for Taylor is that she doesn't do anything challenging with her voice. Her intonation is pretty good, however, in the Eras tour she heavily relies on backing vocals to cover her own voice.

I know J Lo at least challenges herself, but massively fails at it every time. She struggles with every aspect of singing.

No comment on Britney, not enough recent data to be honest.

Selena struggles with everything, doesn't challenge herself. I think her intonation is not good.

Selena/Britney, Taylor, JLo

Selena is a lost case, Taylor just makes music in her same 4-5 notes and doesn't gravitate away from that. It doesn't matter what "genre" (the ATRL the definition of genres is just instruments) someone does, its a mute point when its all in the same beat and key. JLo has somewhat improved but she doesn't even know what she's singing.

Britney who even knows these days, she's the prototype for Selena. Maybe she's up there with JLo.

Tbh out of the bunch Britney is undoubtedly the best one, she just lacks training and coaching in recent times but her voice still has strength and a nice tone, her belts still sound alright and they don't lack power.

Taylor can sing, but she is vocally lazy and she uses the same delivery and doesn't even try to hit somewhat high vocals since rep, it's kinda upsetting that she's not experimenting with her voice like she used to because i feel many TTPD songs could benefit from a little more vocal boldness.

Sel is my girl, but due to lupus her voice has worsened a lot after Rare, she used to have some nice live vocal moments consistently during 2011-2014 and honestly her voice was pleasing to the ears, but her belts always lacked resonance and power.

Jlo improved a lot since her early days but I never liked her voice because it feels like she lacks something, but she's an amazing dancer so she doesn't need vocals and honestly, her improvement says a lot about her work ethic, she's very dedicated.

Tbh I'd say Britney>Taylor=Young Selena>Jlo>Current day Selena

Britney is the worst but only because she's doing that force baby voice because otherwise maybe she could be the best out of these Poppies

Selena definitely, followed by Britney and JLo.. Taylor does not belong in this list, the 'cant sing' drags are so tired atp, she grew SO much and can sing very well, she's not a powerhouse vocalist but she doesn't have to be, she's consistent and her lower register is really good.

Britney can't even sing Happy Birthday on key, and she's performed live 3 times this entire century.
