Life Savers Posted May 7 Posted May 7 The obsession you have with Taylor in every thread . Fortnight is not the only track affected by this rap beef bomb. Too Sweet, #1 just three weeks ago, is now out of the top 10 and Espresso, which ATRL rightly qualifies as the current smash pop hit, is down four and likely not getting #1 that seemed guaranteed just a week ago. Apply the same logic to every track "freefalling". 2 1

The only one that has really stood the test of time is You're So Vain. We've remembered that one 50 years later, and it's likely that it will be remembered 50 years from now. These Drake and Kendrick tracks will be forgotten by this time next year. Yeah....no This is one of the biggest cultural moments in Hip Hop of all time. Also Not Like Us will probably be staying in the Top 10 a long time 9 1
PoisonPill Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Can someone explain the origin of this beef for me? Is there an actual genuine vendetta between them aside from the obvious PR stunt of it all?

Is there an actual genuine vendetta between them aside from the obvious PR stunt of it all? Cliff Notes: Kendrick challenged all of rap 11 years ago on a unreleased Big Sean track. Everyone but Drake took it as a good sign. Drake has been in feelings about it ever since. Drake has been subliminally dissing Kendrick since then. Kendrick said bet and finally gave in on Like That. Kendrick might have actually hated Drake for the longest time now. The only reason ya pop stans think this is a PR stunt is because of the way pop girls beef. This ain't that. They're not gonna make up anytime soon and the accusations and allegations are so bad I doubt they ever will. 6 1

Migs30283 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 taylor will drop fortnight remixes anytime soon. maybe not this week.
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 At least Not like us actually is good and sounds like a summer hit. The top 10 from last week is not summer material.

The culture has rules, battling is apart of the culture and is a standard from the historical roots of the genre (battling was apart of Blues and Jazz music too, and even R&B). If you say you're the best, you have to prove it by battling. This battle is actually OVERDUE because Drake has been scared to be direct, so Kendrick did it instead. Then it took a personal turn because Drake can't battle without mentioning peoples wives and girlfriends. Talking about pop stans as if millionaire rappers fighting like high schoolers is any better. What's cringey is when you whine about a rap battle and it's history you know nothing about because your fave millionaire or billionaire pop girl isn't getting a #1 on the charts due to said rap battle Like let's be real. You probably don't listen or like the genre of rap and that's fine. But get off your high horse just like several people who don't know what they're talking about on this thread alone because you're not into or apart of the culture. No one here comes in complaining about Espresso being in the top 10 or why Fortnight is #1 because they don't like pop. If you dont like it, you don't have to comment on it to annoy people that do. As someone who's into multiple genres, it's annoying when this forum acts like pop is the only thing that matters. Rap is a popular genre and deserves to be discussed on here.. Deal with it. 9

I agree that - even if there may have been some promotional interests at first - this is clearly serious with folks being shot and accused of CSA. Not ever gonna see that with a pop girl beef.
