IBeMe Posted May 3 Posted May 3 She should be working on DL4 while on tour and release it as soon as she can (so probably early 2026). This is not a record that can sustain a long era. Once the tour is done she needs to wrap it up and not extend it with a re release. Its not that the album is bad. Its actually pretty fun ...but it just isnt hitting on many levels. Especially lyircally...itès so vapid and sounds like AI could have written 70% of these lyrics. A lyric can be messy, funny, cheesy etc and still be good because it has personality in it! Duas lyrics this era are overtly polished and soulless. I need more emotion to it or humor or something...idk 2
wsurferwayne Posted May 3 Posted May 3 whatcha doing and falling forever should be the next 2 singles!!!! After that jump to DL4!!!
ericcartman Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Best thing to do is pull an Ariana when she did TUN so quickly.
ICLDXU4HS Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I wouldn't mind her pulling an imperial phase Rihanna/Thank U Next after the Sweetener and release another album in less than a year before she tours. I'm sure she has songs left for a potential deluxe. Just save those for a new album and record a couple hits on top of those.

eleganceislearned Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Remix the next single and add a feature, go on tour, land another fashion campaign or perfume commercial, have them feature the song in the ad in lieu of releasing (flop) singles since the era will dead by then. Then start on the next one.
@michael Posted May 3 Posted May 3 4 hours ago, supertiffany said: this but sweetener has NTLTC and GIAW unlike hers has nothing But it's similar in that those were the pre-release singles and the album had nothing good left to offer once it was released. She moved on to TUN with a quickness because she knew Sweetener was dead on arrival.
TouchinFree Posted May 3 Posted May 3 She needs to get in the studio now and make a Radical Optimism 2.0 since this one's perfect from start to finish. 1
Sawk Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I agree with the others here, try one last single and if that doesn't work, a whole nother album by the end of the year

Rihanna had a stark image/sound shift with Umbrella and GGGB that catapulted her into superstardom. Before that she was just an island girl making pop music. It was the smartest thing she could have ever done. From then on every era she reinvented herself in look, style, and sound that kept people interested. People felt like they knew her. Dua had the chance to make a radical shift and really go for it with Houdini, and then completely squashed it with an album that does nothing.
commander Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I'm afraid Dua played it painfully safe. Everything from the music production, the writing, the MVs, to the roll out Itself was so by the book. A pretty thought-out package to be delivered only to not be consumed. She can do so much better than this eurodance sound she's trying to push and I hope she realizes sooner than later.
Jack! Posted May 3 Posted May 3 There's nothing stopping a Maria remix over the summer and then These Walls later in the year. Even if just for the music videos. Maybe a deluxe in the fall instead of These Walls but I think that song deserves its flowers. She can start from the top in 2025 with something in a different direction. She's not announced a tour yet so she could hold off until next year for that too. Also maybe she's happy with the album and the roll-out and will just enjoy whatever she gets out of it and lay low lmao. We know she loves a holiday.
BryceG Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Falling Forever is a Radio 2 and Heart hit in the making. But she's the wrong artist for the song. It needs to be released by Sia or Steps.

Part of her smashing was cause the spotlight was heavily on her as people were tuned in what she had to say. Dua has a bit more pressure to come back soon with more hits but she should also continue to stay in the spotlight this era with multiple appearances/performances

Dua had the chance to make a radical shift and really go for it with Houdini, and then completely squashed it with an album that does nothing. More than that, Rihanna's career thrived because she was consistently popping out HITS and that's truly what she built a fanbase off of. Each of Rihanna's albums post-Rated R had multiple non-singles that could have been singles and just never got the chance to be because she was moving on to new eras so quickly. Dua's momentum coming from FN era was because it was full of undeniable HITS but to the OP's point this album doesn't have any of those left.
Bookmark99 Posted May 4 Posted May 4 She's a GP artist. Without hit songs like Don't Start Now people aren't tuning in to a Dua Lipa album. She didn't have the hits this time. She should just accept and sing the writing camp'd songs that are pitched to her instead of trying to prove herself as some serious artiste. 2
IBeMe Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Watcha Doing Remix featuring Doja Cat & Maria (for european markets) could do a little something something but nothing huge. She isnt getting a top 10 hit from this record as is thatès for sure.
