omrimayo Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Not that I care about those critics, really, and whoever love the album should do no matter what! For me it's not a good album, sadly after FN that was perfect. The singles already were worrying, but the album is just... there. Nothing I want to listen to.

She truly messed up big time by branding this as a "psychedelic album" when in reality it's just Solar Power / Endless Summer Vacation 2.0 2

And ESV is actually acclaimed with a decent 79 score and an AOTY nomination. 2

ESV was only acclaimed & received AOTY nomination because of the Flowers smash/hype around that time

Her previous albums showcased her evolution as an artist, from the thrusting nightclub staples of her self-titled debut to the focused disco reverie of "Future Nostalgia." Despite moments of elegance, the album as a whole struggles to find its footing, with lyrics often skirting depth and intimacy. Lipa's persona as a savvy, controlled artist is evident, but it leaves listeners wanting more substance and emotional connection. It's clear the reason why the album is panned is because dua is safe and has no controversy, so there's nothing to talk about it. I don't think it's fair to drag her for this but critics and the GP what authenticity and relatability. Dua is the purr epitome of what's a pop star. 1 1

RO doesn't have a song as stellar as Handstand. 2. Commercial success doesn't necessarily correlate with acclaim.

Those changed mid-2010s I am talking about how she was receiving major awards right from her debut era she was literally being nominated for the Big awards of the Grammys, winning left and right notice I said Poptimism was evident during her time but it was most noticeable during Taylor's 1989 (which is why some attribute it to her)
