leyaris11 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) Do you even know the album is out? And I listen to entire the album and yes, all the good songs are the first three singles and the rest are mid-tempo messed. And not Beyoncé, Ariana and Sabrina blocked her all the way up to the day album is releases. Love me some Dua but this album/era is non-eventful. Edited May 2 by leyaris11 3 1

Virgos Groove Posted May 2 Posted May 2 It lacks a smash hit to propell the album. Illusion should've been that, but humanity is a lost species, I fear... 1 3

Feanor Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I feel like she did the same mistake that Billie Eilish did with 'Happier Than Ever', aka releasing too many singles prior to the album and having a pre-release rollout of like six months atp. I know she basically replicated the rollout from 'Future Nostalgia', but 1. she was still establishing herself with that era, especially in the US, and 2. 2019/20 were a much different landscape in music than 2023/24. Five years ago "traditional" eras were still feasible but now in a post-Covid world, everything moves faster. Her red hair reveal got tons of likes iirc, so there was hype in the beginning, but that was half a year ago. "Houdini" should've come earlier this year, after she finished her awards campaign for "Dance The Night", and then 2-3 months later the album should've followed suit. 2 1

The rollout for this era/album way too long and all hype about dua comeback is gone while her single making zero noise. 6 months release with three singles, gurl ain't nobody got time for that!
BANKS Posted May 2 Posted May 2 i can't help but wonder if this has anything to do with her ditching her previous management team… thoughts?
Johnny Jacobs Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Can we stop opening threads with same question over and over? She should've gave GGGB She gave ARTPOP You can't risk it when you are in your third album chile. You need to have the smashes 2
