I mean it was not that bad the end. It's just Framce and Germany voting terribly but the rest of the countries voted okay-ish. The greens did awful tho

Not huge changes tbh, immigration being a defining issue when it comes to Western Europe in general, but overall the same trend. Green and Macron's parties biggest losers of the night.

Pretty much what I expected, I guess Ursula's Presidency is going to continue with the same majority in the Parliament as before.

In Ireland, we will have the full candidates by Tuesday most likely, as no candidate has reached the quota as of the first count in any place (naturally). Ireland has also had local elections, where Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael did better than polling predicted (but worse than the last local election). Sinn Féin did better than the last local election, but considerably worse than what polling was predicting. The far-right and fascist party grifters only managed to get a few seats out of the 949 total, which is disgusting. Independent candidates also doing extremely well, given the nature of local elections in Ireland.

Media in Ireland are framing it as "Sinn Féin are DONE FOR", which I think is ridiculous since it isn't a national election. But Sinn Féin will still surely be disappointed and frustrated by not getting as many EP seats.

LOVE to the German greens lose like that. Bunch of Muppets. Hopefully they drop below 10% next year. :suburban:

Meanwhile in the race for Budapest's mayorship, opposition incumbent Karácsony is 300 votes, or 0.04% ahead of the Fidesz-backed candidate with around 99.5% of the vote counted. There likely will be a recount. Orbán's party got the largest percentage of all parties at the European Parliament elections, but got their worst result ever.

I don't understand why so many people hate the Greens. I voted for them. They are our only real progressive party. Personally, the SPD is too lax for me. Unfortunately, our country is very conservative and when I look at the results I think it's only a matter of time before the AfD comes to power here too. The next few decades will be shaped by the right. I'm curious to see what will happen in America.

They've been blamed for the inaction of this coalition because they are the easiest target. They had the most to lose with their followers holding them to a very high standard, and that weakness is being exploited for all its worth.

The SPD is weak and has been for years. Scholz will be out in the next election, that's for damn sure. And as for the AfD... Germany needs to disband them officially.

I'm glad to see we swedes said NO to our far-right racists :clap3: -2% and became the 4th biggest party while aiming for 2nd (social democrates, moderates and greens beat them)

France is such a doomed country a bunch of brainless racists voting for an useless candidate who can't even hold a debate but yes immigration is the issue :deadbanana2:

Counting is now further underway in Ireland, with most seats expected to be allocated either today (Tuesday) or on Wednesday. So far, there's one elected seat for FG (EPP) in Ireland South, and more all but confirmed FF/FG (RE/EPP) seats across the board. The Left (GUE-NGL) will have an uphill battle to be the largest delegation from Ireland.

"Our only real progressive party" that supports genocide, maybe. :suburban:

The way they flopped worse with Gen-Z than they did with anyone else says it all and is almost an art in an of itself. If you ask me, there's no better indication of how the US election is gonna go.

How anyone still feels comfortable voting for them in times of war when we have a Green Minister for Foreign Affairs that's serving dumbass of the year every time she opens her mouth... Idk, Idk.

In Ireland, both Mick Wallace and Clare Daly (GUE-NGL) have lost their seats.

Idk what's funnier, the bribing or the fact that they still couldn't get signatures.
