Also it was never really discounted, but if you want to talk about discounts, there's one we can bring up* TFM - 5x Platinum Bad Romance - #2 Telephone - #3 Alejandro - #5 Teenage Dream - 9x Platinum I'm not even going to list the singles peaks considering it has six #1's, a #2, and a #3 Teenage Dream by far The Fame is at 4.98 million while the 8 track ep is at 1.7 million. TD is at 3.1 million. BTW is at 2.5 million and was outselling TD until the re-release in 2012 came up. Globally BTW sold more outside the US, and they're only 200k apart in total. Let alone TFM. The singles peak don't mean anything too. BR outsold all the Td singles bar firework, and did it in a weaker climate. Telephone sold more than almost half of them such as part of me, wide awake, and totga. It's 200k away from LFN in digital sales too. PF and JD also sold more than all the TD singles in 2008-2009 which is more impressive than 2010-2012 (the peak). Paparazzi also sold a ton despite only peaking at #6. This thread is about TFM and TD, so not sure why you brought up two other Gaga albums.

People see those #1 singles on Wikipedia and think they have the knowledge. Some of those #1s had last-minute remixes released to get to #1. TD's US numbers include the original TD + TD:TCC re-release. TD:TCC was never sold separately, so all of its numbers are included in TD. TFM was sold separately as an 8-track EP. That stand-alone EP sold 2M+ pure in the US. But it's not included in TF(M) sales. The EP sales are not included in Billboard units but the track sales and units are. Also The Fame + Monster was also sold as joined with album which do count towards however the EP stand-alone ~1.6M pure sales are not counted. Batsy Armada
Teenage Dream felt "bigger," for how impactful it was. That album was the gift that just kept on giving, whilst also achieving massive success every step of the way.
