Divide had 16 songs and did 190,000,000 at a time when Spotify had 160 million active users. TTPD had 31 songs and did 254,000,000 at a time when there are over 500 million active users. Divide is still much more impressive and probably had more individual listeners as well.

This can't be possible. Last week I didn't hear any of its songs played in the second biggest dance club in my village here

75% of TTPD's streams are from the first half of the album and if the second album doesn't exist the first album's number could only be higher :rip:

Coulda woulda shoulda. If Ed released 30 songs back then with Divide his streams could've been higher as well.

The most impressive one on that list is probably Harry Styles. Only like a dozen songs and that many streams.

Nice cope, Divide was virtually dead on Asia charts and only midsize in SA, only big in Europe and NA.

TTPD is big in every continents

We love an artist that demolish in sales AND streams. Not everybody has that

YOU love an artist that needs different variants, bonus track exclusive albums, 31 songs, a double album, playlists and streaming farms.

WE love an artist who has one version and does 3.3 million and has a #1 smash globally to go with it.

It'll take me a bit to do the math but I have the sneaking suspicion that TTPD broke Divide's record with it's first 16 songs, regardless :gaycat4:

TTPD's first 16 songs did 185m.

It would've likely still broken the record if it was just a standard album and didn't have to compete with another 15 songs but yes it is very close.

Are you telling that Taylor is the only woman in the top 10 of debut weeks in Europe?  :shakeno:

So you're not even sure. But anything to discredit Taylor right? :toofunny3:

You don't even love your fave enough or have the guts to use him/her as your avi honey, instead you have to fake being-stan a nearly 40 year old act.

please stop pretending. It is a sad behavior.

Show me any proof that those "streaming farms" even exist. Taylor literally has the most organic streaming numbers of ALL of her peers, including your fave. As for the variants, she doesn't even have the most variants compared to her peers. Just stop already, you're embarrassing :rip:

Spotify had 160 million users and Ed did 190,000,000. Spotify now has 500+ million active users and Taylor does 254,000,000. Do the math because Ed's debut is factually way bigger.

There's a difference between Ed doing 190 million when there were 160 million active users and Taylor doing 254 million when there are half a billion active users. Like, why not just debate with facts? Ed's debut is more impressive with less songs and way less active users.

The thing about Ed Sheeran and "your fave" Adele Adkins is that they both will likely never see a successful era like Divide and 25 again while Taylor keeps achieving new milestones in her career. It doesn't matter if Spotify have 1 billion users because for Ed and Adele that will probably always be their peak.

But there were 160 million active users on Spotify back in 2017, now there are 500 million. Congrats to Taylor but Ed's is more impressive regardless of how you look at it.

The change in narrative. That still doesn't make TTPD more impressive.

"Keeps achieving new milestones". Well, she'll stop as well. This could be her peak as well.

If this was true then why did Beyonce only do 76M in 2024 when her album has 27 songs? I'm not even shading Beyonce, i'm just pointing out your "logic" make zero sense. More songs doesn't automatically mean more streams.

Do you even care at all about Ed or do you just want to discredit Taylor no matter what? :toofunny3:

It's more impressive because it's a continuation of a string of successful albums/eras. It's not just a flash in the pan like for other artists.
