SlowGinFizzzz
Teenage Dream, 21, Born To Die, Beyoncé, NFR. Not counting male artists because I'm honestly not familiar enough with them to decide which ones can be considered "decade-defining", but they'd probably include Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Drake and Justin Bieber. So in other words, nothing of value was lost by ignoring them.
superben
21, BTD, Teenage Dream are there for sure. Rih's discography is the most iconic of the 10s easily, but I don't find any of her album standing out enough.

I remember the controversy that was had when she did I believe a SNL performance and she was called anti-American and was Young and Beautiful on the album? Even if it was, idk why some people have BTD over self titled. Born To Die is the most influential album of the last decade. Also it outstreams Teenage Dream and The Fame (Monster) daily in spite of it having only two single that charted on HOT100 (a #91 and another #9 peak with a help of a remix). It was one of the top vinyl sellers in US with 191K sales last year and it is a great vinyl seller in UK, Germany, Australia and France. You're blatant ignoring of 50% of music made renders that opinion useless, no? Why would Ed Sheeran have a decade defining album of the 2010s?

There are a lot of great male artists, just not the ones I mentioned (that were arguably the most successful and had the biggest impact on mainstream music in the last decade). Besides, OP literally said that this topic is "obviously about women", so I'm not entirely sure what point you are trying to make here anyway.
