We just need good music. I hate how we just expect stories now. This is why Taylor is in the hole that she is in the first place. She can't just make fun songs. The fans demand there to be a story. And it's a shame because she can make good pop songs if she wanted to.

That's honestly a good point. And the storytelling itself has gotten redundant to the point of pretension. 

 

It feels like a collection of "songs" that are simultaneously overwritten and not a fraction as pristine or deep as they're being presented to be. It wouldn't be a bad idea to overhaul her process and try to find inspiration from new sources.

That was a nice little bit of electro on "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart". The tempo of its usage was different enough from the production on "1989" for it to sound like another flavor.
