Always wanna talk about Beyoncé but would never dare to ask why their own faves can't sell as much as Taylor.

Why is that?

Taylor is more relatable, people of all ages can relate to her not just girls and young women. Beyonce is too private for people and barely has any personality to relate to her.

why would i want to relate to a billionarie? how can you claim she has no personality when you said she's too private so we don't really know her true pesona? :rip:

As a long time DC/Bey fan, 100% agree.

I don't thinks she doesn't have personality, she just chooses not to share it. If she started her career in 2010s/2020s it would've been DOA.  Relatability is everything now.

But also realistically, as a Black woman doing mostly R&B, she hasn't/prob never will get the resources, opportunities, and grace Taylor gets…if we're gonna be honest.  So that has likely played a factor (at least at the start of their careers, therefore impacting their trajectories).

I'm saying relatability is a huge reason for Taylor's dominance and success with the GP, privacy is why Beyonce doesn't sell the amount Taylor does.

She makes music for Black People. Smaller audience

Taylor has never taken half the risks Beyoncé did when it comes to polarizing issues. Beyoncé actively antagonized conservative America with Formation, while Taylor waited until 2018 (:rip:) to speak up on anything political.

Taylor is talented and has great music, but she positions herself in the pop world with the aim to be liked by as many people as possible. Beyoncé doesn't.

Because far more people like Taylor's music. Very straightforward.

Taylor has better music and make critically acclaimed albums without the input of writing camps and 30+ contributors

Honestly I think it's because Taylor plays it safe.. like.. really safe. Beyoncé turned off a lot of people with Lemonade and her follow-up ventures with Jay Z and then Black is King, unfortunately. Many non-Black people get turned off or simply ignore projects that don't pertain to them. A lot of people also see race as political, if that makes any sense.

People will roll their eyes and say race has nothing to do with artists' success but race is very, very important to humans, in and outside of America. Beyoncé has been very vocal about who and where she stands with in human rights struggles and politics, and a lot of people take these things seriously.

Taylor has been mute about all of this.

Taylor Swift's popularity has skyrocketed since she has publicly supported LGTB rights, abortion rights, antiracism causes and written one of the most direct, hateful and viral tweets against Donald Trump.

Beyonce isn't basic and being basic appeals to white people or if you're gorgeous then you have to be basic in talent. In the black community Basic isn't allowed especially for Black Women.  Beyonce is just not a safe artist like Taylor. Things would be different if Bey continued the horrible I am sasha fierce type albums or promoted like she used to. At the end of the day Beyonce is respected for her talent and has the looks to match. People **** with Beyonce because they **** with Real Superstars.

Another great point.  I mentioned this earlier, the rules are different for Black artists…especially Black women.

Beyonce made an entire album to "reclaim" country roots to black people following her treatment at the ACMs, only for these yt stans to say she's trying to pander to white audiences.

It's giving uncultured and lowkey white-supremacist

Also people hated Bey when she was relatable especially during her shady era in DC late 90's to early 2000's. Being relatable wasn't in at that time and Bey caught hell then and was called ghetto and everything under the sun. Beyonce wasn't held to high regards and treated like royalty until years after. Bey put in work to get that much respect. Others do far less and get it.

taylor playing it safe, making family-friendly music is why she is huge. :rip: each artist that took risks or have a niche audience numbers wont be as huge.

every artist is relatable.

Because Beyoncé's music isn't actually as big and culture-shifting as buzzfeed and Twitter want you to think it is

So then those people can just..... stan Taylor or KPoppers if that's what they're looking for?

Why would Beyoncé need to change her approach to appease those people when she already has a strong fanbase?
