Klein Posted April 12 Posted April 12 And the Red vault truly is the most amazing. Inconsistent? Most definitely. But the highs are higher than the highest skies.
ATRL Moderator bluebirdsforever Posted April 12 ATRL Moderator Posted April 12 I Can't Write A Good Song (No Really I Can't) being the shortest song (when I feel in my bones it'll be a skip) she did this for MEEEEE These track lengths are very promising, lemme get my popcorn ready for next Friday
Klein Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Since we're celebrating Red era, let's celebrate this excellent rework of WANEGBT together at the 1989 Tour. A work of art. 1
DevilsRollTheDice Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Glad we've made it to her best album and the inspiration for The Tortured Poets Department, the one and only SacRED. Not only is it her best album, but also the best rerecording era and vault. Well yes, Taylor herself knows this as well! Red was the first album I ever bought and I played it in my car every day on the way to high school
beckyswift Posted April 12 Posted April 12 (edited) 'cause in this city's barren cold i still remember the first fall of snow and how it glistened as it fell i remember it all too well haven't started my official red listen yet, but i am listening to her magnum opus and this line always floors me. in a song full of career best lyrics, there's something particularly haunting about this line. part of it is the transition from the autumnal beginning of the song to the wintery conclusion. it's also such a sophisticated metaphor that alludes to multiple things - actual time that has passed, a love that was pure in the beginning but eventually decayed and an overall loss of innocence. she begins the song with a "wide-eyed gaze" in the autumn, and a few months later she's maimed and wandering alone in the cold. the whole outro for me is as good as music gets, but this line just sent shivers down my spine and i needed to give it my praises Edited April 12 by beckyswift 3
PoisonedIvy Posted April 12 Posted April 12 After hearing the latest Maggie Rogers record I fear a gaylor within me may have awakened @Vespertine @Great Username theres just some sort of higher calling that comes to be when a woman has felt another woman's touch, it's a divine cosmic alignment that I would know nothing about, but now that I've heard it I can only imagine that's what most of Taylor's discography has been blessed by.
Dear Reader Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Now that we have track lengths, what are your most anticipated tracks? Mine remain My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me? and I Can Do It With a Broken Heart. But Daddy I Love Him being that long really did spark some interest in me, but there's something about MBOBHFT that reads BOP

Gotta say that loml got be interested after seeing the length. 2
Dear Reader Posted April 12 Posted April 12 The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived being 4 minutes… she's about to destroy him for good oh my god 2

Gotta say that loml got be interested after seeing the length. ICFH being shorter than expected made me more excited tbh… TTPD being that long, almost 5 minutes, my gosh Like, I was expecting greatness, but now I'm expecting an even better album than I was before. 2
NordicGuy Posted April 12 Posted April 12 I'm most excited for the title track, So Long London, Fresh Out The Slammer and loml. But Daddy I Love Him scares me the most because I have no idea what it's going to sound like. I'm hoping for a proper soft rock masterpiece but I'm fearing for a dull Aaron folktronica track that has a minute long repetetive instrumental outro because she ran out of lyrics and didn't have the heart to tell Aaron to cut it from the instrumental. So it could be one of the best but it can also be one of the worst. 1 1
Sweeftie13 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 My Red ranking: 1) State of Grace 2) Holy Ground 3) All too Well 4) Red 5) Sad beatiful tragic 6) I knew you were trouble 7) the last time 8) 22 9) begin again 10) The Moment i knew

Her subversive serve with having several songs longer than the much anticipated track five. She's gonna smack us good then deliver the final blow with BDILH 2

beckyswift Posted April 12 Posted April 12 but daddy i love him terrifies me - i had assumed it was going to be a tongue in cheek, sarcastic palette cleanser after so long london, but NOW…i am truly scared for whatever she's going to say
Sweeftie13 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 for those who say spring isn't for long TTPD ballads, Folklore worked perfectly IN SUMMER when people want dance pop 2

Not to mention this album having her very first collaborations with pop music icon Max MartinWow. An absolute powerhouse body of work Even the TV is superb (well the vault, anyway) 1
