smholiv Posted March 8 Posted March 8 - Down Bad screams smash to me from the start so I really want to see what its like - Fresh out the Slammer reminds me of St. Vincent's last album, very curious - I Can Fix Him is a bit of a meme'd title so it can go either direction but I think the subject matter/lyricism will be unexpected - loml same thing... I lean towards it subverting my expectations - So Long, London obviously The more I look at the tracklist, the more I realize it would've been so much fun if it was revealed slowly. These titles are so bizarre and really give no indication what they'll be like sonically. It would've been crazy seeing them and speculating 2
P!NK2LOVE Posted March 8 Posted March 8 It’s the SECOND night of the SECOND weekend in Singapore and the SECOND last night of tour before TTPD… are we moving? 3

Holiest Dreams Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I Can Fix Him throwing us for a curve and being a very heavy song about trying to ‘fix’ someone with depression would actually be iconic. But I’m also here for it being a sarcastic-ish song if it’s done right. 6

Oh, and what miss @1989 said about Airplanes, since late 2011 was also probably the peak of Taylor/Hayley's friendship too Can we take a moment to thank the Good Lord that Both of Us is a forgotten flop with zero staying power, because it's genuinely one of the worst things she's been involved with (both artistically and ethically [though I guess we didn't really know about Luke then] ) I don’t even remember the melody tbh 13 hours ago, 1989 said: I think his team was attempting to recreate the success of Airplanes nnn Yeah I think you are right, and maybe they tried to use it to make Taylor more global after the SN era idk 1

Gladiator Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I’m hoping this album is reminiscent in sound to something like an Ellie Goulding Halcyon (this is the best album example that comes to mind), the original release. More sophisticated production compared to production focused on driving beats.

More sophisticated production compared to production focused on driving beats. A song like Hanging On would be incredible. You know we can get away Because I'm calling your name Every day I feel this pain But you just turn and walk away No, I just can't keep hanging on To you and me I just don't know what is wrong With you and me, yeah Touch me and then turn away And put your hands into the flame Tell me if you feel this pain 'Cause I don't want to be a ball and chain No, I just can't keep hanging on To you and, woah I just don't know what is wrong With you and me I just can't keep hanging on To you and me You and me You and me Spoiler With more lyrical depth but sonic-wise it'd be amazing Edited March 8 by Klein 2
Maroon legacy Posted March 8 Posted March 8 When Midnights came out, on my first listen I vibed with Lavender Haze like "yeaaah that's so cool", but Maroon was THE song that really overwhelmed me, my jaw was on the floor. I wonder which TTPD song will have simmilar effect. Probably, Fortnight or MBOBHFT, since TTPD is a title track and these are usually just classic hits, but not jawdropping (Lover/Cruel Summer, Red/State Of Grace, Speak Now/Sparks Fly), even though Red is one of my all time favorite songs. 2

It’s like 1989 beginning to morph into a hyperpop hybrid, especially during that warbled outro. I can only hope it’s a tease for things to come if she goes back to pop with TS12 or later. 1
