All I know if that she BETTER not only have one mv lined up for this entire era as she suggested in her insta post

I NEED at least 3 singles from this album and they should go like this:

1. Fortnight

2. I Can Do It With a Broken Coochie featuring @vale9001

3. Guilty As Sin? featuring @fridayteenage

and a 4th single if she is feeling generous with or without a music video.

Reputation opened with 1,238,000 units vs 1,287,000 for 1989. That's virtually identical, especially considering the weakening of the pure sales market between 2014 and 2017. Look What You Made Me Do was one of her biggest (if not her biggest) debut ever for a single. And the Rep Tour was her most successful tour at the time.

The fans were definitely still there. Did she grow her fanbase in that time? No. But there definitely wasn't an exodus if you look at the numbers. And if there was, then they were replaced by others fans. If everything fizzled out "quickly" (proportionally to 1989's success) it's because the GP didn't care/like it as much as 1989.

The casual "fans" left during OOTW to New Romantics after all #that controversies. From the calculated up to the snakegate.

I'd say some even jumped ship as early as Shake It Off.

The worst song from The Anthology peaking the highest because of *** buzz. ihateithere.mp3

The Fortnight MV being really emblematic of the whole album's narrative and not just Fortnight the song + the way she phrased it leads me to believe it's the only one we'll get. It was probably filmed during this break. She's about to tour non-stop till August so that wraps up the era, visually at least.

Well she did say Fortnight was the "first single" so I guess we have at least one more music video coming.

The way the Kim thing is giving red herring/drumming up publicity anyway... "Changed your name and any real defining clues"... "Your kid comes home singing a song only us two is gonna know is about you". Like it's just too basic for this sing to be, at least predominantly, about Kim. Especially when we have Cassandra like 5 mins later

She's defo derangedly talking about some poor girl from primary school who rightly bullied Her

Still waiting for Ajay to upload her reaction to YouTube :clack:

Why are some of you so upset she wrote about Kim? Y'all weren't the ones going through that so what's it to you how she processes it? Also Kim has been acting like she loves Taylor once she got even bigger  and even wore the speak now dress like come on, why is it ok for Kim but not for a song writer?

ngl I always thought that too. But I feel like it's about Scooter Braun. Or at least a combination of the two as well as Scott. "I built a legacy you can't undo / there wouldn't be this if there hadn't been you" feels way more apt for the current state of her career in the aftermath of the masters debacle and re-recordings than it does about a retread of Snakegate

I definitely agree that there is another person that this song is about that fits the narrative and she just doubled it up to apply to both of them, but the Kim **** is tired. She's released something reference it since it happened and so many are tired of hearing about it, regardless of a change of perspective. Like girlie you benefited from it tremendously in the end. If you have ill feelings about it, address it in a letter to Kim and send it to her. Not everything needs to be in a song. But it truly sucks that songs like this rise to prominence because of buzz, and that's all people will focus on. The song is not that good compared to the entire rest of the project.

CoSoSom was already great on first listen but it's so addictive.

Thing is she never really addressed Kim before, who by the way never even apologized when the whole phone call was leaked and tried to spin it as just drama she "moved on" from. The more you think about what she did, the editing, the intent behind it. Celebrating as the whole world was dog-piling. Gleefully taking pics of Taylor's non-consensual naked replica from her deranged husband's MV (which is btw is still up to this day on YOUTUBE) and the world still taking her side when you try to take it down. I want you to consider this again: she never apologized. I'm sorry, Taylor is a better person than me because I would've gone to jail. You will never convince me Kim is a good person. That's ACTUAL sociopath behavior. Pure evil. So yeah, she's been trying to go an PR save face and grace ever since Taylor's stocks went up again and this was her reminder that nope it's still fu** you forever.

The song is fine but the title thing is frankly childish. If it had a regular title people would just be speculating just like for every other song on the album instead of assuming.

That's the point and why I think it's hilarious. One thing Taylor's gonna do when she's mad at you is gonna be patronizing and the fact that she's addressing her like a child is just icing on the cake.

Also people are ignoring it ending on an accepting, thankful note. An acknowledgement that no matter how f'ed up that situation was, eventually it led her here and maybe there's healing to be found in it. It's a lot more reflective than people are giving it credit for and not at all a dIsS track (the real one is TSMWEL)

A lot of songs and themes on this album feel like she's purging the poison out of her system and this one is no different. Onto the next chapter !

Current top 5 from standard tracks

Fortnight

But Daddy I Love Him

The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived

The Alchemy

I Can Do It With A Broken Heart

Yeah I do actually the song is about a bunch of people or someone(s) else in particular. I just enjoy the idea of her writing this song about a school yard bully and then being like… "You know what, actually? Let me whack Kim again just for the fun of it."

But it's definitely my least favorite.

What? Why the hell she should write a letter to Kim? For what? To ask her to apologize? Are you hearing yourself?

Are you there in the snakegate era? are you there when the full phone call leak?

She have every right to be pissed, imagine the whole world on your neck because someone lie about you. If i was in her shoes, i would do much more than writting a song.

Get some real life experience.

Personally, my only qualm with the Kim song is that I think it could be placed elsewhere and fit better - like even just swapping it with the prior track. I Hate It Here -> I Look In People's Windows -> The Prophecy -> Cassandra would kind of be an unmatched four-song run. :bird:

I like KaIMee thematically because it's a great showcase of how "moving on" from anything isn't a binary process. Taylor hates Kim and, to some degree, will continue to hate her forever, but she's also healed and gained some perspective, and this gradient is reflected well in the song.

I think people are a bit too dismissive of how the Kimye drama affected Taylor because of how kindly hindsight has shown that it all worked out in her favor. But just because she ended up in a great spot personally and professionally doesn't erase the emotional damage it did to her, nor do I think this should preclude her from ever writing about it.
