Saying Is the full album is wrong but just thinking to It who's afraid of little me has that to.

Does anyone really sees it doing over 500k second week? While I'm kind of getting sick of the massive debuts then end up getting single digit weeks at #1, it would be dumb if there's enough preorders left to actually break the record and yet keep shipping for later weeks… @PoisonedIvy step to the mic? 2

vale9001 Posted April 27 Posted April 27 So Ajay apparently really liked some of the songs (i saw a Little video about so long London), said others need to be listened again and some at first listen are missing something in the emotional side. Predictable and same as so many reactions to It. Overall positive btw.
Kyle-x Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I don't even want you back I just want to know... if rusting my sparkling summer was the goal

Yea I just finished the full video, her main issues were not feeling the emotion of a 6 year relationship ending in some songs (if only she knew that it's because most of the songs AREN'T about that, but she's not deep enough into the lore so that's understandable ) but she adored So Long London, loml, and Smallest Man the most because of the passion behind all of them. I think she had 9 or 10 marks out of the 16 songs, so not a bad ratio. And the album IS a grower, I think we all agree on that, so nothing to worry about there. Edited April 27 by PoisonedIvy

Yeah I only watched the first five minutes and when she said the context she got was that this was about her 6 year relationship I knew it was gonna be another over her head moment

Hitchhiker Posted April 27 Posted April 27 One of the things I love about Taylor music is how she pronounces words to elevate the song it really adds a lot to the music 3
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Anyone know when to expect the edited version on Ajay's YouTube?
TayDuaStan Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Robin & The Bolter finally clicked. Bops! TTPD is now skipless 3

Cruel Summer Posted April 27 Posted April 27 One thing I love about this album is that it kind of sets up the next one to be completely wide-open as far as what sounds she could try out. She did the whole streaming-friendly Midnights follow-up for those who felt the immense surge in her popularity warranted it, and she did the whole Woodvale thing for people who feel that sound is where she sounds more at home. I know many of us probably still want a rock album from her, and this pretty cleanly sets her up to actually do that in a few years after the tour and Taylor's Version project are done, or to make some other sonic shift as she sees fit. At the very least I can't imagine her feeling obligated to stick around in mainstream pop since she did the first half of this album, but if she still wants to, I think it'll feel like a natural next step from this album all the same.
Great Username Posted April 27 Posted April 27 The fact that The Tortured Poets Department kind of bodies The Anthology, as good as TA is Dessner hive we need to go into PR overdrive His sings on TTPD do significantly elevate the ablum though, adding very necessary dimension to make it Her magnum opus 1
fridayteenage Posted April 27 Posted April 27 best part of songs, standard: All my mornings are Mondays stuck in an endless February I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary And I had said that to Jack about you, so I felt seen Everyone we know understands why it's meant to be 'Cause we're crazy Cause I knew too much, there was danger in the heat of my touch He saw forever, so he smashed it up, oh, oh Now I'm down bad, cryin' at the gym (Cryin' at the gym) Everything comes out teenage petulance "**** it if I can't have him" (Can't have him) You swore that you loved me, but where were the clues? I died on the altar waitin' for the proof You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days You ain't gotta pray for me Me and my wild boy and all of this wild joy (He was chaos, he was revelry) My friends tried, but I wouldn't hear it Watch me daily disappearing For just one glimpse of his smile And my friends all smell like weed or little babies And this city reeks of driving myself crazy What if the way you hold me is actually what's holy? If long-suffering propriety is what they want from me They don't know how you've haunted me so stunningly That I'll sue you if you step on my lawn That I'm fearsome and I'm wretched and I'm wrong Put narcotics into all of my songs And that's why you're still singin' along But your good Lord didn't need to lift a finger I can fix him, no, really, I can (No, really, I can) Whoa, maybe I can't A con man sells a fool a get-love-quick scheme But I've felt a hole like this Never before and ever since I'm so depressed, I act like it's my birthday every day I'm so obsessed with him, but he avoids me (He avoids me), like the plague I cry a lot, but I am so productive, it's an art You said normal girls were boring But you were gone by the morning You kicked out the stage lights, but you're still performing We've been on a winning streak He jokes that it's heroin, but this time with an "E" "You look like Taylor Swift In this light, we're lovin' it You've got edge, she never did The future's bright, dazzling" 1
Slate Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I'll tell you something right now I'd rather burn my whole life down Than listen to one more second of all this b*tching and moaning
