cruelcooper Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Anyway, when do we think the next variant is coming? I really want a deluxe CD but the current variant is not giving, I fear
Klein Posted February 18 Posted February 18 4 minutes ago, Timeless said: If you'd watched the video, you'd see that Swiftologist was actually defending Taylor's fame and success and that she is too big to ever be canceled. All these Swifties who are dragging him rn seriously lack brain cells I have watched it and most of his videos. Just wanted to highlight the difference in vibes between the two. I have always mostly enjoyed Swiftologist's content. But recently, he started giving me the hick. I loved that he has always approached his videos on Taylor with a critical lense. But lately, it has gone too far (?) and is starting to reek of hypocrisy. Notably, I remember videos of him being extremely critical of her putting out multiple variants which is bad for the environment etc... Which I agree with. But in the meantime, he's still making videos on spending $1000 on Taylor merch. He was whining about her putting out a new TTPD variant, only to be immediately buying it mere minutes later. And that's not even mentioning the higher than thou attitude he has because he's an "OG Swiftie" and because since he finds the TV botched, then people listening to the TV instead of the OG are sheeps. His content is mostly great, especially his podcast. But the recent hate he's been getting is on himself. Earlier (don't remember when exactly) he was criticizing people saying weird **** about Taylor who then complained when Swifties started coming for them. He was saying something along the line of "what did you expect?". Then he proceeded to make the video about Midnights not being deserving of AOTY AND THEN complained that Swifties were coming for his neck. What did he expect? 3

Fama Posted February 18 Posted February 18 1 hour ago, Folklore89sm said: The original album cover does sort of fit a rock sound more than a folklore/evermore sound. Looking back, the TIME shoot kind of matches it too. we all thought these were Rep TV coded but they could be hinting at the TTPD soundscape. Those two last ones especially feel very mature and strong and very different from her. I’m just trying to see where the old Hollywood factor fits in, because she’s been hinting at that through her outfits (the Renaissance premier and Grammys looks were intentional) and obviously there’s the Clara Bow song. A rock sound would make the most sense given everyone we know so far. The artwork for the album is too sexy for another folklore, and another synth-pop record wouldn’t fit with the poetry title, plus the hints of a genre switch on tour. Rock (or the right side of rock) is a genre that is more well-respected and revered than pop and could definitely host poetic lyricism. I agree, but it might just be 80s synth-pop again. I would love soft rock, and I would love it if it's psychedelic rock. Another style that might fit the aesthetic is: I'm pretty sure this 2022 movie is the inspiration for the track Clara Bow. 1

It's giving clout chaser 3

I think it was labeled as synth-pop on some website but we are have no clue. And don't believe users telling you here that it's alt-rock or alt-pop, we don't know that 1
vale9001 Posted February 18 Posted February 18 (edited) The album is gonna be pop. Pop songs radio can play, everyone of them. People are waiting for experimental music can disappear now or at least not being annoying on 19th April when their pointless expectations will be failed Let's hope it's not again alt rock influenced pop (yeah midnights is influenced by lo-fi alt rock, so what Swifties think is "basic production" cause It's not overproduced pop it's just well researched and executed lo-fi bedroom pop..you know see the concept and the title ) . And let's hope it's not again triumphalistic synt pop (something Swifties like more even for songs worst produced than midnights peaks cause well they like pop music more than rock music) cause is from 1989 she's doing that somehow in every album. And i don't want 80s inspired pop cause It's everywhere and it's tired now. I don't want music based on percussions and electronic synths. I want pop music made with "every" instrument, the piano and an electric Guitar together, pure clean pop there is not swedish pop. Everything It's okay jf lyrics are great and melodies strong. I mean Red or speak now but the Red or speak now someone It's 35 and not 20 would make. It's not even "that complicated". Edited February 18 by vale9001
