Lemon Posted February 18 Posted February 18 (edited) While we are at Alvvays: But what I would like from her, not essentially now even though it would be awesome, is Vampire Weekend kind of album. They are witty, catchy, dorky, eclectic and she could make it work. Case in point, their new singles for an album also coming in April. Make sure to listen to it, thank you. Aside from the whole album Father of the Bride, which would work for Taylor to the T. Taylor would sound so good on Capricorn. Maybe we need them as future collaborators. Edited February 18 by Lemon

Omg cause I’ve been stanning American Teenager so hard lately and thought the same thing - a sound that she would EAT tf out of Something similar sonically but perhaps a bit darker would be a great lead single. Soaring electric guitars and drums with synthesizers kinda in the background, an anthemic feel. Very atmospheric and poppy but not in a Midnights way. I expect there to be several actual pop songs on the album, even if it’s something more left field overall.

I love Vampire Weekend. Taylor at her artistic peak (folklore, evermore, parts of Red) can absolutely pull off a VW-style record. 1
smholiv Posted February 18 Posted February 18 envisioning a Red 2.0/Red evolved with songs inspired by like Hatchie/Alvvays/Wolf Alice... I love dreaming big... 2
joannna Posted February 18 Posted February 18 doing Red before announcing the alternate cover pretty much confirms that Tortured Poets is Red 2.0, help 3

Kern Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I love how the official category for this album is ‘synth-pop’ and people are still discussing whether it will be alt-rock and literally right after Midnights thread that was the same 1

LittleFreak Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I really hope this is true, I would die for a pop-rock leaning album.
Cleanromantic Posted February 18 Posted February 18 She also was saying that "you can turn your lessons into your legacy when you write songs" yada yada yada during her times 100 performance in 2019 and then she unleashed Me!? upon the world a couple of days later I blame the obsessed midnights haters for all the anxiety and I will never forgive them for what they are putting us through. The way they act like the rest of her discography jumped off a cliff all because she decided to make her 10th album sound like what she's done before and now we have to hear them whinge and complain about how she's always only done synth-pop and how the midnights photoshoot was misleading and so on... and now they're doing the same to TTPD. They're worst than the oth and the puta stans tbh. Dear OMH, I wish you nothing but hate and suffering . 2 2 6
littlebodybigheart Posted February 18 Posted February 18 the setup thinking this is gonna be a rock album and then some of y’all gonna be trashing this album for not meeting your unrealistic expectations 2

Moreover, her lesson was with ME!, which has evolved to cardigan as the lead single, so she had a point. Edited February 18 by Lemon 1
