Their folklore reaction is a classic, iirc it was around the time they started their channel too. Midnights also was pretty funny, considering they were missing the point across the whole album because they couldn't sense the upcoming Joever.
Cleanromantic Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I don't understand this fandoms' obsession with getting a 2000s rock album. Her discography has a lot of rock adjacent songs and Speak Now TV is like half Rock influenced . 3

He's obviously a hardcore fan but the kind that crosses the line a little bit for me and starts making conjectures about her that he couldn't and shouldn't make because at the end of the day, he doesn't know her like that! Overall I still enjoy his content, even if I disagree with him a lot. Despite being "extra" I'd argue chatsandreacts are healthier in their engagement with Taylor content. You can tell they always leave that safe distance between them and Taylor as a person and enjoy her music for what it represents to them (just like anyone should) instead of as an entry gate into gossip/parasocial territory into her personal life and decisions. I do have to note that a lot of us in the “give us a rock album!” brigade don’t want anything even remotely like 2000s rock! Personally, I’d really rather a rock sound from her was influenced by known collaborators of hers like The National and what they’ve done in recent years, or like Fleetwood Mac’s sound in the late 70s. Those sounds feel like they work with her voice and aren’t already-explored territory for her, while something more contemporary and mainstream would feel a lot like something already done Speak Now. But also, for those who actually want exactly that, I think part of it is because Speak Now is still very highly regarded among fans. 5 1

I mean, Chats And Reacts LOVE to link any song they hear to one of her past relationships and love to speculate on who a song is about. They are just as obsessed with her personal/love life as Swiftologist. The only difference is that Swiftologist is not shy to be more critical of her, whereas Chats And Reacts is more positive. I like both creators though they're by far the best Swiftie YouTubers. No one else compares really 3

It's not really about criticism, even some of the "positive" things he says about her I can't help but roll my eyes at. 7 minutes ago, Yog said: I get, I could accept people picking midnights over Lover but HOLY89 is literally Taylor’s pop bible for an reason, it’s her most recognizable album to date It really is. I agree! But it's also her vaguest/least Swiftian pop album in lyricism (on purpose and for good reason on her part) so for me it lacks that thing that makes her albums special. It gets more Swiftian with the vault songs though! Edited February 17 by Mandalore
Lemon Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Yeah, there is a difference between soft rock a la The National, which is welcome for her and angsty rock.. 2
Fama Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I think the content of the album would be perfect for either soft rock or psychedelic rock. 1
MidnightsAtPeace Posted February 17 Posted February 17 The 2000s type of rock has to be one of my least favorite genres of music that has ever existed. When I say I want TTPD to be rock, I mean Fleetwood Mac type of rock, or even Florence and the Machine type of rock. Give us another Rumours or another How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful 5 1
