Cowboy Carter only has 2 songs charting on Spotify Global, why?

Her fans and casuals were all in due to hype and novelty factor, but this not the type of music they listen to regularly. So they are done at this point. Actual country music fans, who would stream this type of music on repeat aren't here for Beyonce, so they checked it out 1st week and are done.  Same thing happened with Doja's Scarlet.

She needs to be visible and playing the game, she refuses to though.

If she was doing appearances and performances, it'd be a totally different story.

It's clear Beyonce is focused on creating "high brow" music to build a legacy, but it'll be interesting to see how well that pans out long term when no one enjoys listening to the music.

She still has early career hits.

Overtime, most artists get reduced to the biggest hits and 1 or 2 albums from their peak.

In that regard, Beyonce is fine even if her later work doesn't maintain listernship. Those later works will help furnish her reputation has an artist genius while people keep on enjoying her actual hits.

I'm more impressed that she is on her way to selling almost 100k in the third week of release. She's already outselling and out-streaming Renaissance, thats all that matters.

Your fave had 0 songs charting on Global Spotify by day 3. Why are you worried?

it's really proportion that matters. many people will stop streaming the album in full after a day or two. it's evident in many recent releases and where they were at the 3-week mark:

Midnights - about 75% drop

GUTS - about 70% drop

Eternal Sunshine - about 65% drop

it's hard to find this data on artists who have less chart-obsessed fan bases, lol, but the picture is kinda clear. especially for Beyoncé, who has not established herself as a streaming artist, it was always going to be an uphill battle keeping those first day streams up. the album is just naturally falling in streams to where Beyoncé's organic fan base is usually at, similar to how T-Swift's had fallen to around 40 million.

it's really all there is to it -- unless a "CUFF IT" emerges, these streams can only recover with some live promo or visuals, and those will be temporary bumps.

No it doesn't. 100M opening album and 50M opening album won't have any similarity by any means.

Ofc 200M opening would have worse drops than 20M opening album since it is harder to maintain higher numbers.

Did Endless Summer Vocation have better longevity than Midnights by that logic?

Comparing 60M 3rd week and 13M 3rd week streams is crazy :rip:

the similarity is that they're both on the same streaming platform.

yes this is why I'm not saying "Midnights lost 140M, that's more!"

this is the whole point of looking at proportions over raw numbers.

well, yes! in terms of its streams falling, it had better longevity! it held onto the little streams it got more, thanks to "Flowers."

comparing an almost 30-year career to 10 years of pop stardom is crazy too, but that never stops ATRLers.

Another frontloaded, shoved down our throats by media album by Beyonce. The GP doesn't care about this album. She's lucky she got a TikTok viral hit from it, which is going to be forgotten in a year or two.

The album has been the highest selling pure sales of the year and remained #1 until Taylor just released.

Not to mention it's already outsold her previous album, Renaissance, in two weeks - with what it sold in a month. :skull:

If you're going to troll, at least be good at it.

I don't care. She delivered a masterpiece, her fans universally loved it.

Why we should care about charts?

It's clear she doesn't care too.

The album while good, has not much replay value, I go back to play 3-4 tracks but I don't feel like going back to listen the rest.

Maybe her fans have jobs or a social life and can't farm stream her albums the whole day.

Will be interresting to see which fares better in the long run. Have a feeling Cuff It-impact was bigger overall compared to how THE will end up.
