I feel like such a clown saying this, but I think the 1m-2m range prediction is a little bit of a classic HDD lowball.

yes like 1 million range is such a boring and safe prediction :rip: i could've said the same 3 weeks ago

There is no way she is breaking the Adele record. It's impossible at this point.

I personally agree with you at the moment, unless early HDD/Billboard reports this weekend are truly, profoundly shocking. It would take physical sales at a level only ever seen for 25 and NSYNC's No Strings Attached, PLUS immense streaming. But the fact that there's even a sliver or doubt for a 2024 album, this far into the streaming era, is totally insane.

I think 2 million is a lock with the double album now. I'm not even entertaining the Adele record breaking though. I'd say 2.5 max after seeing their numbers now.

Double album count as 1 album on billboard.

It's RIAA that count them as 'double'

So it is not a good argument

I see this doing around 1,9-2,1M tho

She doesn't let you CMA on her website so you have to purchase the album again to have all the tracks.

I feel like using 1989 TV as a data to predict this album's debut is inaccurate.

Her numbers are heavily coming from stans and not the GP. So even if it's a re-recording, it won't sell much further from a studio album.

I could be wrong tho, but I don't see it outselling 1989 TV by a big margin. (over 1M)  It will outstream tho, but streams do not provide much units. It could outstream1989 TV by 250M in the week and that would provide just an extra 250k units.

Insane numbers nonetheless

Wtf? Isn't that evil and fraudulent?

Wouldn't most stans  just cancel the first pre-order and purchase the actual complete album?

If that's true, what does explain the massive difference between Midnights and 3 am streams?

Because they focused on the main songs

Also it got released later and most of them were asleep

What is this question? I am confused

The question is pretty clear. Why would Midnights standart average 12M streams while 3AM version which was hard to find on her page average 3M streams?

The answer is GP.

That's your opinion and that's okay

They weren't available on the front pages, nor easy to get for the first week. Almost impossible the first day I'd say, I had to type every single song to listened to it on Spotify while still waiting for AM to upload the album :rip:

Exactly which made casual listeners miss them and only fans ended up discovering them. Sad because they had better songs than original...

Well yes. I guess we will get the answer with HDD's numbers compared to 1989 TV

There are multiple users on this site who have already admitted to purchasing over 20 copies. What's one more?

I hope it's not the real HDD thread? Because these are just random pre-release predictions :rip:

you seem to be very confused.

1. there is no "gp" or fan base diiference with her audience. maybe with certain smaller artists with low streaming numbers but slightly higher sales you could use this dimwit term, but not for someone doing record streaming numbers and miillion of sales. know the difference between a small time artist kept afloat by a fanbase and one listened to by hundread millions.

2. she has already outsold 1989tv by a large margin given the tracked target preorders. 1989TV was was at 85k prior to release. TTPD had 250k. no need to do mental gymnastics about this.

3. TTPD will outstream 1989TV by a lot more than 250M. in fact, given how huge her srreams are right now, her SEAs will probably help her cross 3M.

This is for sure doing over 2M. I can see it doing 2.5-3M if she releases more versions and more tracks (Which she is known to do)

My point is they're going to be the same people that bought 1989 TV or Midnights..

And ofc it should outstream, it has 31 songs. I predicted 220-250M streams.

600k US streaming  units
1,5M pure sales + TEA

2,1M total

I could still be wrong since the fandom said they are buying 20+ copies so there's lots of mass-buying happening. So it's all volatile

I rest my case

2M being the lowest predicted already :WAP:
