my home airport is pretty efficient even though it's a very busy one.

for domestic, I shoot for 30 mins before boarding. for international, 90 mins will suffice.

I always listen to music on planes. I might also read while listening to music, though I don't like to turn my light on when it's dark and people are asleep.

if it's my home airport (O'Hare) i know pretty much how long everything's gonna take so I like to arrive like an hour before boarding so I can eat a sitdown meal / relax:gaycatina1:

I love airports and unwinding a little before my flight so I get there a few hours before and go through security, have a beer, etc.

I've always loved airports, there's something cool about them - everybody coming and going all over the world. You see people sad because they're separating from their loved ones and others are ecstatic because they're reuniting with their loved ones. All these people passing through a single place for a million different reasons. There's just a crazy energy to them, I'm always down to chill for a while.

3 hours+ for lounge access

Posted

Depends on the boarding pass

i usually get it online 24 hours prior

so i get there an hour and a half, two hours tops before my flight

also i always travel with my duffel bag and i carry it with me to the plane saves me a lot if time

2 hours domestic, 3 hours international.  I always fly early morning for short flights and late night for long flights.  Lounge if I have enough time.

I immediately try to sleep as soon as I get to my plane seat regardless of class. Sometimes I'll wake up for dinner or whatever.

This happened to me once because I sat in the wrong waiting area, once I realized my flight departed in less than an hr on the other side of the airport, I don't think I've ever ran so fast in my life. All the looks I got while walking down the aisle. I appreciated them holding the door for me for a few minutes, though. :rip:

Do you dress up or throw on lounge wear ? I always dress nice regardless but I def. put in more effort when I'm at the airport. I've heard stories of people getting bumped up to first class & business class just based on their attire because they look 'first class' even though they're sitting in economy.

I've seen people look like they just rolled out of bed. I know everyone wants to be comfortable on long flights but I'll be damn if I'm walking through the airport looking like a bum.

I dress nicely too - even when I'm in economy/coach.

and yes, I've been bumped for dressing well one of the few times I flew economy recently :rip:

Depends on which airport.

My local airport, I show up like 40 min before the flight because my airport is small and easy to get through. An airport like DFW is super easy to get through security and navigate as well so I'll show up maybe an hour before the flight and will be fine.

If I'm flying at an airport that I know is crazy i.e. Denver, Houston, Salt Lake, then I'll get there like 3 hours in advance :rip: I'll do the same if I'm flying out of an airport I've never dealt with before. Otherwise, I usually get there around 2 hours before and take my time.

for a flight maybe 3 hours before hand .. since it's like an hour and half drive to the airport for me

always early I remember in america we had isseus with our flight and we were fighting with customer service for like 2 hours and I got my flight with 10 minutes left because I skipped check in line by pushing past 100 people .. I never want to go through that again :clack:

When I used to fly for work I had  TSA Pre check so I only needed an hour cause Pre Check line is usually empty. Now a days if I flew which has been years I'd say about 90-120 mins
