Nope. Even Doja got a true hit during her flop era. Dua being unable to get a real hit that isn't some Spotify global top 30 bullshit mid hit is funny to watch. Her stans were so cocky last year.

Is that why Doja couldn't debut a new song on Spotify top 200 despite being #1 on TTH?

Hell, two hits including Agora.

All while doing an album that sounds nothing like the last.  If she stuck to her usual sound like the other girlies doing lately, she would've performed even better. :celestial5:

But people are quick to scream "fLOp!!!" without providing that context. lol.

OT: She'll be aight lol.

The reality is, she never was, she's on the same boat as Camila Cabello, Demi Lovato and Bebe Rexha

she is, it's just that her US fan "base" is super fickle and will switch their usernames at a drop of a hat if one of her songs isn't instantly #1….

I'd give her a best supporting main pop girl nomination, but never the win.

No and she never was a main pop girl.. they're labeling anybody a MPG nowadays because the bar for female pop stars has become abysmally low, all you need is a top 10 hit and look pretty and now you're the next contender for queen of pop :bibliahh:look at Tate McRae and Sabrina Carpenter, two faceless singers with no seasoning who's last names scream Mason Dixon line-era and they're apparently our new princesses..

Future Nostalgia definitely put her on MPG status. Don't Start Now was in the top 5 biggest hits of 2020, and Levitating was THE biggest hit of 2021. and that's just in the US, never mind her global stats. her first two albums are absolute streaming juggernauts, isn't her debut like the most streamed female album of all time or something? how is that not a MPG?

OT: I don't think one flop era alone demotes you from being a MPG. she has enough impressive stats from her first two eras to carry on that status for now. if she flops again after this era though, it may be over for her.

She's a pop girl with an underperforming 3rd album, which is very worrying for her career
