Asparagus Spears Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I think she needs to stop explaining to people what she's doing and just do it.
STARFUCKER Posted April 7 Posted April 7 It's reminding me of "I sat down with the president of Disney Channel and said 'I wanna make history"
discosean Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Hot take: I don't think she is really a lesbian. I think she is confused and thinks she is and is using the community for the gay dollar. 2

Proseductice Posted April 7 Posted April 7 She's uneducated and never thinks before she says sh*t. Her PR team sucks.

Relampago. Posted April 7 Posted April 7 What makes this statement so egregious is her mentioning other artists who did "gay pop" already in the same interview. And even if she means explicitly queer artists, there's no chance she hasn't heard of Lil Nas X or Troye Sivan, let alone other legends like Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Elton John… However, she could really make a point here and gain a lot of credibility just by mentioning how queer women are often erased and struggle to break through, so she wants to be that voice. Make mentions about how women like Tracy Chapman, Joan Jett, etc don't get recognized much as queer women. And even make mentions about how queer women artists like Hayley Kiyoko and girl in red struggle to break into the mainstream. But she's not doing any of that. She's making it about herself and trying to erase other queer artists, whether it's intentional or not. Very tacky. And what makes it worse is the music is AWFUL. I like Karma semi-ironically but girl… you're looking like a fool.
