XXI. Posted July 20 Posted July 20 (edited) I was always a casual fan of Little Mix, but didn't necessarily know each of the girls. I didn't it realize it then, but she was always my favorite voice in the group. This song and the video are so good. The way she delivers the narrative visually and sonically is so unique... I watched one of her recent interviews that said she waited 2 years to put out her first single, and wanted to release after finding her sound and had a full body to follow... This definitely has me intrigued to see what else she has ready to pull the trigger on. Edited July 20 by XXI. 2

Executives were begging her to leave Little Mix back in the day to launch a solo career. Jade will probably be the most successful; she seems the most creative and understands her audience. I don't see it for Leigh-Anne (weak voice) and Jesy is over. I think Leigh-Anne could find success if she honed in on a sound that was in the vein of Tyla's 'Jump' or 'Water'. Her voice might not be as strong as the other girls, but her delivery is so effortless and sexy. I haven't connected with Perrie's music yet... It reminds me of Hilary Duff, and when she came back with 'Chasing the Sun' and 'All About You'.
Blank Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I've played this song so much the last 2 days, hope it gains traction I thought I was going to enjoy Perrie's stuff more but 3

I think Leigh Anne could be a Rihanna or Britney in the sense that their voices are not "strong" in the conventional way, but the right delivery and production can create something magical. I think she achieved that with "My Love" and I unironically believe that if that had been her debut, she might have really gotten off on the right foot. The debut hype has worn down though, and to have a hit she would need to come out with something really really good with the right strategy and marketing. 2
OrgVisual Posted July 21 Posted July 21 She should re-record a solo version of this and include in the album. The fact that they never released this bop as a single yet it still has 50M views 1
masochizm Posted July 21 Posted July 21 This is quite good, wasn't interested in any of little mix in the slightest but shes pushing the right buttons!

Yeah I remember over ten years ago when I was getting into Little Mix during the Salute era I really thought Perrie was going to be their breakout star (she also had the publicity benefit of dating Zayn at the time). Granted I didn't expect that Little Mix would stay together as long as they did and a lot of things changed in that time, but I never once suspected Jade would be out for blood like this
Rainbows Posted July 21 Posted July 21 the song and video... are exceptional, I was not expecting this kind of c*nt from miss jade.. whew
shelven Posted July 21 Posted July 21 This is so good As someone who only very loosely followed Little Mix, I never understood why so many of their fans hyped up Jade so much, but I completely see the vision now whew

Joyride Posted July 21 Posted July 21 we kinda needed this, didn't we? it's a very different pop song. we knew she was in for the music AND the bling (or just being a big pop star) and she found the formula to do both things, she kept it interesting while still being true to her love for Pop 😭 I was so scared because it's been ages since Little Mix released anything and she didn't get to strike while the iron was hot, so this is probably just people connecting with the song and word of mouth. I'm so happy we love you icon! 2

But the way the GP had fun with her EP leaves me thinking there's still hope for her. She won't be hushed away when she drops new music which should be soon. Perrie is sadly not connecting with the GP at all. I still think she has to go completely stripped, vulnerable and raw. These songs she's dropped feel nothing like her.
Mke1979 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I am ADDICTED to this song. While others try to decide to put out an upbeat banger, mid tempo or ballad, JADE decides to mix all 3 into you for her first debut solo single and it works well! From Little Mix to BIG Mix! I see big things happening with JADE and this song. I can't want for the extended and all the remixes to come!
Joyride Posted July 21 Posted July 21 also it'd be fun if she used all the different JADEs for future releases.

Sannie Posted July 21 Posted July 21 JESUS CHRIST, what an amazing way to debut a solo career. So ballsy and so good.
TinashesLighter Posted July 21 Posted July 21 i'm already thirsty for more. really excited to see what she makes of her career
