Extreme violation of international diplomatic law seen here, but I highly doubt AMLO would declare war over this, Mexico's foreign policy is strongly rooted in non-intervention and international peace so it would be out of left field to declare war (never mind that we are not really equipped for one right now). I hope the situation eventually cools down and no more people are injured, the situation with Peru a while back also never really went anywhere thankfully. True but AMLO is known for being patriotic. He has defended Mexico's sovereignty many times (as he should) and I doubt he will let this go unpunished.

Sergi91 Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 Mexican embassy staff will travel back to Mexico on Sunday on a commercial flight due to Ecuador denying Mexico sending an army plane to take them back. Embassies from other countries in Ecuador who support Mexico will ensure the safety of the 18 Mexican embassy staff members as they travel to the airport.
ttsmu Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Hopefully this doesn't escalate even more. Just finish relations with Ecuador and move on. We dont need more wars around the world.

ttsmu Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I just read on X that Ecuador has prohibited any flight (commercial or private) going to or coming from Mexico. Anyone know if this is true?
ClashAndBurn Posted April 7 Posted April 7 At this point, it seems obvious that the US tacitly supports Ecuador and is only upset that they didn't do this to get Assange over a decade ago.
