Singing a song adoring the woman and the proceeding to kill her in the following track make zero sense. If they want Dolly's Jolene, it's available on all streaming platforms. That said, the writing is pretty bad and it just doesn't flow well with the melody imo. I'll stick to enjoying the rest of the songs on the album 3

She offered up her own interpretation in the same way Ari did with The Boy Is Mine. The way the tweets are phrased (esp the first one, miss irregardless) implies a very annoying victimhood over a SONG. They can relax a bit. 10 1

One of the most recent examples may be Miley's Flowers' where she used Bruno Mars' song as reference and worked from her own point of view to use it as an answer to the topics talked into that. 2 1

They can relax a bit. i feel like they're trying to make the original sound more feminist than it was not everything is about female unity and empowerment. i like that beyoncé took a stronger bitter woman approach to it, a lot of women feel that way 3

A straight cover would not have gone well for Beyonce and I truly believe people want that woman clowned. I find the discourse fascinating cause the GP spent the last year being so outraged over Ariana appearing to "win" as the other woman. Why can't Bey approach a very valid situation more realistically? Is it because she's seen as succesful/beautiful enough and they don't like her husband already? Well she dedicated an album to punishing him and he said she was leaving and he had to go to therapy to save his family. 16
