‘SOS’ most streamed female album of 2023. Why?

It is a good album released in the last three weeks of 2022 that had all year to accumulate streams.  It's not rocket science, just good music.

Amazing album with great replay value. It also has a song for different moods imo so I find myself constantly playing it

It's a great album released at the end of the year

Taylor streams are stretched between like 10 albums so that helps too.

It's not. It only outstreamed Midnights because that album got overshadowed by Taylor's other 2 releases from last year. Taylor's streams were spread across Midnights & Speak Now TV & 1989TV. SOS performed so well cuz SZA only has like 2 albums. Now if we compare pure units (cuz that's the real deal), well… SOS didn't even enter the top 10 :rip:

And in terms of critical acclaim, Midnights is the Grammys's AOTY. The GRAMMYS are THE RECORDING ACADEMY, not some internet critic that no one heard about

Does it really have any other way to listen besides streaming? I don't know if it had a lot of physicals

Also, doesn't SOS have like 6 singles, 1 being currently active. Of course it's gonna outstream Midnights which had only 3 singles and the last single was released almost a year ago :juanny:

Snooze was serviced to radio April of 2023. That was the last single.

They're disliking your comment but you spoke real

OT: It's a great body of work but there's also something for everyone on there in terms of sound, while staying true to who SZA is as an artist; a perfect sophomore album

she sold 300,000+ vinyls in the US alone in 2023 so that's not true either.

defining era of 2023. multiple hits with longevity, snooze is still smashing and there's a threat of a deluxe version still coming

THIS. Midnights sold over 3 million pure units since release (while also having to compete with Taylor's other 2023 releases SNTV & 1989TV which also sold over 1 or 2 million pure units) while SOS is N/A in this department. I mean congrats for the streaming achievement, but let's face it, selling pure units is by far a lot more impressive, especially in the streaming age. Cuz like even a khia can have a huge streaming hit in this day and age and boost an album's streams :skull: while only Taylor can sell over 1 million in pure :cm:

The almost immediate Swiftie tears/coping in this thread. Even bringing up pure sales in the year of 2024 instead of just saying congratulations. SOS the AOTY that you are.

Tbf, SOS came out in December of 2022 so the majority of it's streaming activity was in 2023 Talent :clap3:
