Songs by unknown artists who went viral on Tiktok never got this high on Spotify, top 10 at best. Some didn't even chart like Thuy's "girls like me don't cry" or Flo's "Cardboard box"

 

And the term "hugely viral" is used very loosely these days without backup data. Like I've never heard the Hozier song on Tiktok ("End of beginning" and "Beautiful things" are everywhere though)

It still has SO much room to grow too (it's nowhere near #1 in the US in number of streams, for example). Honestly wouldn't be surprised if this starts pulling 10M a day soon.

but hey, remember how UMG removed most music from Tiktok recently, so right now it's deffo possible for someone to take advantage of this music "void" on the app by simply allowing their songs to stay in there

this random surge of unknown artists doing over 7M on spotify is definitely related to UMG pulling everyone's music from tiktok. Good for them but it's annoying honestly because they're usually one hit wonders

I don't even think it's that similar tbh but I suppose it has the same kind of vibe as Celestica  i guess its more so their general sound rather than a specific song

if you were getting into them III is their best album
