lol .. and y'all are surprised ? The song is mid at best .. the album is her best, considering all her previous singles are amazing, but nothing she released yesterday was worth, and she did the MTV performance and waited like a year to release the album. Like ??? Her team is the worst ..

Why is everyone acting like 2 million streams is a bad number ? I'm sure the song will have legs. the only Shakira songs to have. Big debut was session 53 and That was because of all the hype online.  This is on par with most of her debuts.

I expected so much more, at least for this one song. I also do not understand how the other song except one didn't chart, 2 are close to 1B, 2 other songs are close to 500M. She should have used the break-up hype last year, she has really become a singles' artist by releasing droplets all the time.

OT : Anyway I have Te Felicito and Acrostico on repeat. The new songs haven't grown on me yet.

Not Escândalo Íntimo doing more than Shakira :deadbanana2: That frontloaded messy annoying album

"Punteria" did not strike me as a hit on first listen tbh

The album should've come out with "Acrostico".

What other 90s artist not named Beyoncé debuted with these numbers?

Not one solo song over 1 million.

Its still better than others numbers but Shakira fans were brave coming for Beyonce.

And she gave those successful artists their first and only top 10 hit in the US so far  :clap3:

Shakira waited way too long to release the album. I mean, even in her recent interviews, she says her label was begging her to release and she wanted to keep on working on the album. :rip:

Hopefully, she will learn that timing is important. She could have announced the album during her VMA performance and released it shortly after.

Omg  I was delusional to think the album would smash :chick3:

I'm still loving it though. It has been on repeat!

Yeah these aren't good numbers but considering she wasted all the hype she had, I'm not surprised…

Sad but true. The Pique scandal revived her career with the GP but it didn't last long enough.

Not surprised by the awful numbers, she should have released this album last year. Her latest interviews promoting the album and still mentioning the Pique cheating scandal feel very...2023. People have moved on.

She waited to long. SS53 was released a year ago :rip:

she literally put out an album with 0 recent hit singles

Awful album, awful single choices. That's what she gets for choosing to release a playlist instead of a cohesive project.

Shakira is successful and doing great for a 90s act.

BUT, Idk why people are acting like Shakira's high profile collabs and 7 singles released before the album starting years ago didn't boost the streams. Renaissance was carried by Beyonce's solo power whereas most of Shakira's hits in recent years are collabs/features. Beyonce clearly has greater solo power.

Spotify streams total:

Beyonce - 24.4 billion (15.3 billion solo)

Shakira - 19.6 billion (6.9 billion solo)

Beyonce's stats exclude her contributions on massive songs like Hymn for the weekend, The Carters and DC before anyone comes for me.
