Uncatena Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Spoiler kin > BLUE > bounty > close your eyes > EATBF > BHS > RTF 1
Uncatena Posted September 13 Posted September 13 also, who is such a stunning closer omg. the horns??? okay ionnabjörk 1
RideOrDie Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) the mix of forgive her used on the generate video is obviously a demo with a different vocal take too bad we will never get that Edited September 13 by RideOrDie
Uncatena Posted September 13 Posted September 13 first few listens ranking: innocence of sound forgive her not your cherry the end of every song run wild who you hold me like water la la love luminary rainbows darkness is a real place
Dragonfly Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Surprised to see people rank this higher than the sublime EAtBF and BeHereSoon
Curaga Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Hard to say yet if I like Close Your Eyes more than Everyone Afraid (that album is very special to me, just like Blue), but they both eat up Be Here Soon.
pink lightning Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Girlies... i'm obsessed For me this is so much more instant than Be Here Soon and it's the successor EATBF deserved, I held my expectations and it was the best thing to do because I was blown away by the production of all songs The End of Every Song is a career highlight idgaf the instrumental is heavenly, Run Wild and You Hold Me Like Water are incredible too, Who is an amazing closer not your cherry and darkness is a real place are the weakest links for me but they still are growers, the choir at the end of darkness makes it worth it I'm so happy that I'll see her again in december after 6 years 3
EdgeofTeeth Posted September 14 Posted September 14 can't believe I haven't seen more praise for Darkness Is God's Place..... it's absolutely transcendent 3
original_lifeline Posted September 14 Posted September 14 darkness (the 2nd part) makes me cry! such a beautiful and angelic piece of music. gives me Disney vibes, but I still adore it. the only two that haven't clicked yet are 'run wild' and 'hold me like water'. idk, they just feel basic. hold me like water has Sigrid-esque production the end of every song is her closest attempt into pop, but I see it as Katy Perry speaks ionnaliish + violent playground type of song singles are aging like fine wine. innocence was an obvious choice for the first taste of the album, it just remains the best and never gets tiring. forgive her has Sevdaliza touch into it, which I also love. the drums are top notch, they add epicness to the whole sound. who is a perfect closer which leaves you with a bittersweet feeling. 4
basti Posted September 15 Posted September 15 thank you ionnaaleeehhh and daddy claes for this masterpiece 1

Venice B Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Listened to the full thing twice and for some reason it hasn't clicked yet. iam/ionna were my favorite artist in the beggining of my 20's (blue is literally my favorite album ever) but ever since remember the future her albums just don't appeal to me. i really like innocence of a sound but the rest sounds like... background music. it doesn't excite me or make me feel anything, which is a shame because i was really looking forward to this album since she labelled it as a "sequel" of sorts for blue. I'll still give it a few listens, though.

arvu Posted September 19 Posted September 19 My current ranking: forgive her brings me back to the old melancholic drama of iam with its experimental spacious synthy production and moody lyrics the end of every song In Due Order meets sassy ABBA arrangement. Need I say more? run wild Superbly upbeat and hopeful charismatic chorus darkness is a real place tender hopeful healing song moving on from deep grief surrounded by your loved ones and respected peers as a song, makes me tearful every listen innocence of sound return to form (closely), could have been a song on Blue, poppy and glassy not your cherry cool dejected lyrics and beat with really nice production luminary rainbows shimmery cold summer breeze on a boat back from blistering day sun beachy bay but something about the vocals is too big for me who gorgeous elegant vocal runs and some great horn/brass synths. big and heavy song with great arps. the ending is amazing. but the song as a whole isnt as cohesively arranged to me. you hold me like water sprinkling Kate Bush and Tame Impala inspired production elements on an ionna bassy beat +++ la la love the best vocals on the album, really nice production elements, but again something about the composition and mood switchup halfway through the song falls a little short for me. although its last its still good. 2
basti Posted October 19 Posted October 19 any news for new singles or there's nothing more????!!! i remember she said 2 singles were coming soon
