Relampago. Posted March 15 Posted March 15 (edited) His music is meh outside of a couple songs, his voice is insufferable, he’s a poor performer and he’s not conventionally attractive. As much as I love the attention he’s brought to regional Mexican music, it’s not enough outside of that to carry a huge, global career. I don’t know why people claimed he would end Bad Bunny. It was never gonna happen because of him even if Benito crashed and burned. Edited March 15 by Relampago.

The difference is the GP stream both of them, ATRL for the most part does not despite being mentioned here OT - He's a fairly new artist in the mainstream. Why is he already booking arenasThe set up

He should have done closer to 10k capacity per date. He would still be in a arena
Thesedays Posted March 15 Posted March 15 (edited) 56 minutes ago, Armani? said: Isn't that global numbers? The US is his second biggest market by far after Mexico though. When you take a look at the three big Hispanic markets outside Mexico, his peak in Spain's Spotify Top Artists was #11 (he is currently #48); in Argentina, he reached #8 (and is now #45); and in Chile, he got to #5 (currently #20). Compare that to the US where he is in #14 and had a #4 peak. The US and Mexico are what make him such a streaming monster (and these are the two top streaming markets anyway). Plus, it does make complete sense that concert organizers thought he'd have an easy time selling tickets in the US if he's selling in Mexico. 2/3 of US Latinos have Mexican descent and what works in Mexico concert-wise almost always works in the US too (Bad Bunny, Karol G, RBD, Luis Miguel, etc). It's basically the same audience nowadays. But is Peso Pluma really a concert act in Mexico or does he only sell a lot of tickets in Mexico City? Either way, he never came for Bad Bunny's crown. is he famous in Spain and Latin America? Yes. Did he get anywhere near Bad Bunny anywhere except for the US and Mexico? No. Bad Bunny topped the Spotify artists' chart in every single Hispanic market and he still out-streams Peso Pluma everywhere except for Mexico. Edited March 15 by Thesedays

Thesedays Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I think one problem with Peso Pluma is that his audience is really young, and he does narco-corridas, so it's not like parents are going to take their kids to see him live. Traditionally, that's also a problem for rap artists btw.
XDNA Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I just looked at his tour and he's touring in a wide variety of states. IIRC BB was mostly in big Latino states for his last tour. Also he's a lot newer act and doesn't have a tour rep yet. He should've started with smaller venues.

ATRL Moderator Azulito Posted March 15 ATRL Moderator Posted March 15 Wait... he's doing doing a 360 tour Someone needs to be fired. Why is he doing shows in Kansas City, Omaha, Minneapolis, Greensboro, etc? A show in Dallas AND Fort Worth? San Francisco AND San Jose? Montreal? Some of the dates don't even look 10% sold

Peso Pluma is pretty local to Mexico (and Regional Mexico listeners) just like HER is local to the US (and R&B listeners).
TomRipley Posted March 15 Posted March 15 He's just allegedly a money laundering scheme for the Sinaloa cartel and the fact that he's flopping when he's supposed to be huge in streaming just confirms it.

Like In 2024 & 2023, yeah. But H.E.R hasn't even dropped a album since 2021 Genesis is doing good, but obviously it hasn't outsold H.E.R's biggest album that charted for 181 weeks so... She also has another album with over 900k & her last album from 2021 has around 1.3M units as of now. Peso Pluma is just getting started with his mainstream career compared to H.E.R.
