Even though Sidney’s story does feel complete in the sense she’s actually managed to create a normal life for herself, I wouldn’t be against her and Mark returning, but it would have to be a strong story and possibly the final entry as I don’t want them to keep making movie after movie for the sake of making money as there’s only so many ways to keep a franchise as meta as Scream fresh. 
 

With all of that being said, it would feel wrong for her and Mark to return in Scream 7 without Sam and Tara also being present as there will be such a dark cloud surrounding the movie. I feel like the damage is irreversible at this point, because even if they did re-hire Melissa, how do we know she’ll accept their offer? I personally don’t see her returning unless Scream is sold to another studio.

Spyglass is gonna try and make Scream 7 to see if it's a flop or profitable. If it tanks, then I can see them selling franchise to another studio who would make Scream 8

Scream fandom quickly went from "Justice for Melissa!" to being excited for Neve's potential return, all under the excuse of "why would you want so many people to lose jobs because of one persons decision"

 

ngl I didn't expect much from people who thought Scream VI should've been cancelled because Neve wasn't in it, but it hasn't been a full week and they've already turned their backs on Melissa and Jenna Disgusting behaviour.

I don't think she should be punished by anyone if she returns, I want her back, she alongside a few others can save it

i was one of the main ones begging pots and pans saying this franchise was losing its heart and soul by the way they disrespected Neve by lowballing her , and i truly do hope she’s smart enough and not THAT greedy to realize she would only be compensated the way she ought to have been this go around because they no longer have the two lead actresses. i really hope she has solidarity with Melissa in this moment and refuses their offer.

 

if anything it seems so insulting that they’d come around to her now in the wake of this situation. no paycheck is worth your soul. f*ck spyglass and what they have done with this franchise ……. not that y’all would ever admit it but 5 & 6 were complete garbage anyway

Also, completely different situations. Neve was still offered something, just not as much as she deserves. Melissa was literally fired for standing up to genocide. And this will probably have a bigger impact in her ability to get more roles moving forward.

Accepting any kind of offer from a studio with Zionist leadership, especially when you're someone like Neve, only goes to show what a spineless human being you are. It would be very hypocritical of her to go on a whole smear campaign against the studio for not paying her enough, essentially labeling them as misogynists, but then turn a blind eye not only to censoring free speech but also to silencing someone who spoke against the killings of the innocent.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your stance) I can see 7 still being a success if the writing and hype is up to par. It's gonna be tough to explain Sam and Tara's absence but nothing is impossible.

Neve was liking pro-Palestinian posts apparently. If she returns it’s because they offered her a crazy amount.

it is funny to see fans say how they'll "lose respect for Neve" or w/e if she does a potential new movie when she made a point of releasing a public statement letting everyone know the studio is TRASH and fans said "aw that sucks for you, Sidney's story is done anyway" and proceeded to show out in hordes for the last movie indeed

 

"but a woman not being paid what she's worth is not the same as another being fired for standing up against genocide!" of course not but both issues deserve attention and support. I stand with Melissa and Spyglass is obviously vile (like most Hollywood studios? lol at people also acting like execs care about actors) but if the movie happens I won't be mad at all if Neve finally gets the paycheck of her lifetime. we have no idea how these people are doing in real life, actors need work and money, especially after the longest strike in history. if everybody decided not to work for people with bad/no morals well then most people would be jobless (and we'd have no content to consume but then again people are hypocritical and pick and choose what to protest/boycott so)

 

anyway Neve is mother and we trust her but Sidney or no Sidney the truth is I'd care a lot more about the prospect of a new movie if the writers weren't gonna be the same ones as 5 / 6 too. just sell the franchise rights and get Kevin back for "the last one (in this decade)" as well
