Relampago. Posted June 20 Posted June 20 End of an Era would have been such a good single instead of Illusion imo, but it would have needed to be released with the album It just has that easy breezy summer feel. 6 1 1
BrokenMachine Posted June 21 Posted June 21 The way Love Is Religion could fit like a track from Radical Optimism

Migs Posted June 21 Posted June 21 When everyone was waiting for the new single announcement before Glastonbury and she goes and releases an Illusion remix.
Baltie Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I don't care if this is her flop era, I still love and play Radical Optimism all the time. The way it's such a fun and easy album to listen to. I literally just bop to it when I'm bored and it just lightens me up. 4 1
DoubleRainbow! Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Daily reminder that End Of An Era is top 10 in her discography 6

I hope they wont do what they did with TS Perform it on Glastonbury (Like TS on Grammys) and then wait 2-3 weeks till they release it. If they wont release it and perform next Friday then its really weird
Hurem Posted June 21 Posted June 21 The problem with this era is not the music, it's the management. The fact that even while "flopping" these songs are pulling 500M (Houdini), 250M (Training Season), 100M (Illusion) streams, shows you that the potential was there. Sure, it was never going to be as successful as Future Nostalgia, but it could've performed so much better. What I think the main issue was that they were so hell-bent on following Future Nostalgia's rollout. Dance the Night wasn't done smashing and they should've planned the release strategy around it. It didn't help that they had to swap the lead single last minute either, but that just goes to show that the rushing the launch of the era was a wrong choice. I believe they should have kicked off the era with Training Season in January 2024. Although Houdini is strong lead material, it isn't distinct enough from the Future Nostalgia sound, which was a problem since they aimed to promote the album as a shift from that sound. The Grammy performance could have featured both Training Season and Houdini, setting the stage for the next single. Houdini should have been released as a follow-up single in March. The album itself should have dropped on May 31st or June 7th, with These Walls as the third single released a week before the album. This pre-album rollout would have introduced a new sound for Dua to her audience, unlike the "Houdini-Training Season-Illusion" sequence that that started the discourse of "Dua keeps releasing the same song." To be clear, I do think Illusion is single-worthy, but it should have been saved for a late Summer release. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk 4 1

I'd just keep Houdini as the lead since it's one of her best songs imo. TS would come next (with a killer video, please) and then maybe Maria and after that These Walls. I also do think Illusion is a single-worthy song, so maybe it could be the 5th single and then a deluxe version with new songs in November. Edited June 21 by Migs

Ivan_brit Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I week until Glastonburry!! she better announce more tour dates after this in other News!!! RISEE ILLUSION RISEEE!! 1
Relampago. Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Training Season would have bombed harder than Houdini ever did, sorry to her I agree that These Walls should have been the single instead of Illusion though, as much as I love Illusion. The lead should have been End of an Era with a February-ish release if we're being honest. 1
