You can say it's a big hit in Eurocentric countries but arguing a worldly performance despite the two largest music markets ignoring the song is a weak defense.
BlackoutZone Posted May 4 Posted May 4 On more positive note, the second day numbers actually aren't looking that bad so far Not many tuned in, but those who did stayed I guess 5 1
lgaga1fan Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Oh btw I probably sound like a massive DL hater on this thread but I rlly love her music and will be at the Radical Underperformance tour regardless 2

It's not like many Western pop hits make sizeable waves in these markets and Dua literally promoted FN era in Korea so it's not surprising it's doing better than RO 1

Ewan Chaos Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Houdini Illusion End of an Era French Exit Whatcha Doing (I always think people are talking about Illusion when they mention this bc its chorus starts with whatcha doin nn) Training Season Falling Forever Happy For You Maria Anything for Love These Walls Is probably how I'd rank this after a few listens. I'd like AFL more if it was like the second half or at least kept getting bigger & was longer. TW I really hate the chorus but I actually think the verses work. Maria is ranked where it is because tbh I have no idea yet if I like or dislike the song sdhoipdhshd. I'd say this doesn't come close to Future Nostalgia (but it at least is ENTIRELY consistent where FN flops on the last two), but I truly do not know where all these debut stans are coming from saying it's better than RO like... let's not get too carried away. I think this album is good, but not great. Each song has aspects that I like and either aspects that I don't like or there's just not enough to captivate me to the song. But I think the dramatics over this album are so overblown lmfao it's really not that bad, she will be fine, she/her team completely botched the rollout but no point in getting upset about it. Just enjoy the music and move on. 2
illia Posted May 4 Posted May 4 (edited) Ajay released a Radical Optimism reaction (on Patreon) Spoiler: Spoiler she loved it and put 9 goddamn marks out of 11 she didn't put the marks on Training Season and Happy For You Edited May 4 by illia 1 2

Less than 20 is very good, more than 30 is kinda bad, but obviously there are exceptions to the rule, Taylor always has bigger drops, but it's just because her releases have such immense hype they have massive first day numbers impossible to hold for too long. I think FN lost 18% on second day Edited May 4 by BlackoutZone 2
makeme Posted May 4 Posted May 4 (edited) Haven't had much time to listen this since i've been on vacation in Central Europe since the first of the month. Going to give this a full listen tomorrow on the train from Prague to Vienna. Listening to a little again now before I fall asleep End of an era is really cute I like the spoken parts Edited May 4 by makeme

nostalgic Posted May 4 Posted May 4 What was her team thinking not releasing Whatcha Doing as a single? It's radio candy with a great hook and the most FN-coded on the album - SCREAMS hit. 4

tjspy Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Just heard the album twice. Happy For You, These Walls and Maria are that girls. End Of An Era is my least favourite. The singles are all legendary.
RT Air Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I'm torn because I absolutely stan the first 5 tracks but the rest just veers into elevator music territory (except Godlusion)
Post Malone Posted May 4 Posted May 4 The way the singles sound completely different from the album tracks like they're so jarring with the flow 1
