greeneyedsoul Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Can't wait to be the only one at her concert here to know the lyrics to her new sings. 5
aaron511 Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Whatcha Doing is by far the most FN-like song on this album. Cool meets Pretty Please tbh. I think it's smart not to push it cause they clearly want to show how different RO is from FN. Maybe save it as an emergency single #5 if all else fails

SweetenerNostalgia Posted May 4 Posted May 4 the album flows much better when you skip houdini ts and illusion

She lost her touch for hits she didn't "lose her touch for hits", she just stopped getting whored out to a billion different writing sessions every week with different producers and studios by tap to try and record as many songs as she can to find the hits. their approach to book as many sessions with as many producers to pump out as many ideas as they can (same thing they did with lana early on in her career when she made like a billion songs with every producer in london) is how they manage their artists and it worked perfectly for dua considering the career she got out of it, now she's like well actually i wanna stop chasing writing sessions for hits to make my albums and just focus on actually creating and curating an album with a couple of guys over a long period of time which is how other artists do it. she wanted to go from her born to die to dan auerbach ultraviolence moment and thought she could do it without tap but oh well, the talent isn't there sis. and that's why it was slightly giving ungrateful when she left tap. and i get it, she was probably tired of looking at her calendar and seeing it filled up with new people, new writing sessions every week. that's why she keeps calling the producers and writers on this one her 'band' cause it must be so foreign to her experience that no sis this is actually like how most artists make their albums and they are not being pimped out to sessions like you were. ben really used that lana formula on her and it worked, down to having the same photographer nicole nodland shoot her early stuff. her saying "i feel confident as an artist now" in every interview literally means i don't need tap anymore putting me in rooms to make hits, i can just work with producers because im friends with them and i wanna make an album with them. and you go girl but this is going to be the direction now, more of an album-based artist i guess? LMAO 5 1 2

Maybe save it as an emergency single #5 if all else fails I doubt warner is gonna push more singles the second single peaked at no 27 and stayed only 7 weeks on the Ht 100 and illusion started at no 43 and i dont see it in the top 40 right. Houdini spent 23 weeks on the chart while levitating spent 78 weeks. The massive disconnect and lack of interest from the public. The moment i heard houdini i knew this was not it. Its like two to 3 different songs put together. It grew on me but its not as catchy and doesnt have immediate replay value like dont start now.

I'm the only one in the crowd singing, Dua notices that, she's impressed. Later in the concert someone from her team comes to me and says she would like to meet me backstage, we get along really well. Minutes after, her father enters the room thinking she'd be alone, he blushes when he sees me, I find that to be very cute. Dua introduces me to him, and I can see in his eyes that he wants me. He invites me to dinner at his place and I convince him to step aside from managing Dua's career. He agrees, but with one condition: he's gonna need to start managing my body from now on. The vision is very clear, you guys. 3 1 1

And that's just the US, it's not like they are going to halt the era because of one country that is her weakest market. Training Season just matched Levitating in top 10s across the world, in France for example, it's outperforming nearly every Future Nostalgia single. Yall are just tunnel visioned on the states 5

LMAO Yep she though FN was enough and the 3rd album was gonna be massive... oh how the mighty have fallen. She went from reserved and unassuming to cocky. Tap made her bust her ass and when the hits were there launched her sophomore era. No songs on the top 40 on global spotify right now ... most of them in the low hundreds.
Better Mistakes Posted May 4 Posted May 4 has anyone had their zoetrope vinyl (the first design)? What number does everyone have? Mine is 43 / 5000

Idk how you can act like the IDGAF and Blow Your Mind singer has ever given a reserved persona. Part of the reason this era is bombing is also because people don't go to Dua for earnestly, they want espacist pop music. 1

Is warner recouping their budget for all the money spent on playlisting and radio. A flop album doesnt sell tickets she wont fill arenas in the US. festivals were the right choice. She's not established yet as a massive touring artist. 1 1
lgaga1fan Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Bringing up all the Khia music market places while ignoring the biggest (Asian markets where the song peaked in Japan, didn't make a dent in Korea and fell like a rock) is a brave defense of TS…
