Bubble Tea Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Gaga always the queen of the LGBT+. More popular current artists speaking out publicly when? 1 1
Weld_E Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I respect and applaud her for this. Lemme go put on my Haus Labs concealer. 1
Miss Show Business Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I will truly never understand why people get so wrapped up into what other people do with their lives. It will never make sense. I get so aggravated with this, because it's always a free for all for transphobes and social media platforms do nothing to regulate the hate. Good on Gaga as always for making her stance clear. She's always been in our corner 1 1
Communion Posted March 11 Posted March 11 We are queer cis people owe it to trans people to stand besides them in this moment in history. Transphobia and homophobia are inherently linked as forms of hate. 7
Ethereaaal Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) 2 hours ago, Marry Illusion Glory said: The way she remains unwavering in her support for trans rights, all these years later It's a shame that some of you are so juvenile as to manufacture or push a stan war drama out of what is simply a clear and loud message against hatred and bigotry, whether fueled by your aversion to an artist and/or their fanbase. Without singling anyone out in particular, I guess some of you just do NOT understand the gravity of this watershed moment linked above or the statement that she posted today. In 2011, having THE prime pop star of her generation, as a cis woman, go to bat for the trans community on primetime television proudly saying "my fans don't care and neither do I [about whether or not I have a *****]", literally THREE days after she launched her new single screaming the words "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian transgendered life" in the bridge was actually MONUMENTAL. If you cannot give credit where it's due, that's fine! You don't have to. But at least have the basic human decency to not malign or undermine the sincere activism efforts of someone that actually had the balls to stand with a community through their thick and thin at a time when everyone wasn't as unabashed and open as she was about the said support. - This statement was really important and I'm glad that she took the time to write something so firm and eloquent. Thank you Gaga for everything that you've done over the years and the way you continue to use your voice and platform. Serving hot scalding tea as usual Not OGHs trying to save face… when they always dish out problematic takes and digs on Gaga, always failing to remember who they stan and how their fave has not done anything remotely close to what Gaga has done for the community (not today, not before). Gaga spoke and SHOUTED for this community at the very peak of her career, and used her stature (regardless of backlash) to make that statement. We will forever be grateful Edited March 11 by Ethereaaal 4 1
DeadInside Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Is she gonna speak up about the queer Palestinians currently getting murdered? 1

I hid it so a new one can be made without that off-topic talk that I caused with the joke on the title which I apologized. You keep “trolling” and then “apologizing” every 2 weeks girl. Either learn how to troll or accept you’re not an innocent clueless victim like you pretend to be in HQ. 2 2 1
KOMH Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I'm an OGH but I have no choice but to applaud her for this. A commendable move 1 1
BrandNewBrandon Posted March 11 Posted March 11 What an amazing ally. Gaga uses her voice and has been for 15 years. Whoever is a fan of this woman should be proud that an A-Lister like her still isn't afraid to lose fans by speaking up. And yes, she can lose fans because of this since she's garnered a lot of conservative ones with Shallow and ARUTW. You can dislike her music but you cannot say that she isn't one of the most important figures in pop culture to literally help the LGBTQ+ community, whether it be via her foundation or her constant uproar against injustice towards queer people. 1

dawnettakins Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Her having to do this is giving the Texas dates during CBT when some people left the stadium after Gaga got political and voiced support for the LGBTQ+ community unequivocally. Good on Gaga for continuing to speak out and be a voice for those who are the most victimized. And some good points made too, especially on the difference between backlash and hatred (alos bigotry).

Marianah Adkins Posted March 12 Posted March 12 This is the Gaga that we love! The fearless, risky but boundary pushing superstar
UnusualBoy Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Tell them Stefani!! Dylan is a sweetheart, people need to mind their business.
wanderlust Posted March 12 Posted March 12 she could've picked anyone else, someone better in the trans movement to make her point. 2 4

Are there transgender people more deserving than others? Gosh, some of you have always something to complain anyway even on delicate matters like these ones. If she doesn't speak, y'all quick to define her not supportive anymore of the LGBTQ+ community, if she speaks you have to find something else to complain anyway. 1 1 1

Dylan is an incredibly high profile trans woman who has notably been vilified in conservative circles, she's the perfect person to include for Gaga to make her point. 2
