"Jolene" is rightfully considered one of the best country songs of all time, but everyone and their mother has covered it already. It would be much more interesting for me if Beyoncé covered a more obscure and genuinely unexpected pick, even from Dolly's own discography. Like, the moment there were rumours of a country album people were already suggesting a cover of "Jolene". Guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes. I have no doubt Beyoncé will do a great job, but I hope that, if this ends up being the case, there's some subversion or a twist, or just incorporating a re-recorded sample into a different whole. 8 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
