UnusualBoy Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Because she's smart, hard-working, ambitious and knew how to work her brand. Sure she's a good songwriter and stuff but that only won't take you far if you don't have those things I mentioned before. Her passion for music is still there and you can see it by the way she speaks about her work.

Taylor will be remembered as an artist with a massive gap between herself and others, just like The Beatles, MJ, and Madonna in relation to their peers. Don’t reply since you don’t care, please and thank you! 1
PoisonPill Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Multi-generational fanbase Keeps fans and public consistently fed with output of material Broadly appealing songs about relatable things while also feeling very personal Seizing on the cultural fascination with her personal life by revealing details in her songwriting Enormous catalogue that's improving with age (didn't trend-chase or tied to a specific time period) A brilliantly executed career evolution from all-American girl next door to coming-of-age young woman to queen of the universe boss b*tch 1
Finkypop Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Excellent, acclaimed music and she releases tons of it. She builds a whole world around her music. The Taylor Swift Musical Universe 1

Gladiator Posted March 13 Posted March 13 (edited) People are also forgetting that she has been very strategic throughout her career and how she is portrayed in the media. reputation era as a marketing strategy was the absolute last thing most people assumed from the 'always sorry, never rock the boat,'palatable and easy to digest' Shake It Off songstress, after delivering a song like Blank Space and poking fun at herself for her own image people use in media. Embracing that in the way that she did (especially when the catalyst for it also was largely influenced by a private conversation that years later proved she was right all along, but instead of challenging it which would have led to backlash because she was once again the victim and people were tired of it, she just embraced it and took on the villain of the situation's role in her rebrand image). Following that, the issue that she had with Scooter and her masters was a gift handed to her no matter how you look at it. Being able to re-record her music and the whole Taylor's Version project has only caused her to be more popular. Then the absolutely left field folklore, which redefined how people saw her as an artist, and following that, massively successful Eras tour (that remains prominent in pop culture with influence also attributed to her re-recordings) has caused her to retain relevancy as other pop acts of the current generation rose. Where at a time, the younger generation would gravitate to these new acts, they are also gravitating towards her, on top of the fanbase that was with her since her own debut. The woman is very smart and calculated. Whether you think she is talented or not, or you like her music or not, if you don't see this you are truly stupid. Now she also has her prominent relationship with one of the poster boys of the NFL (and who was one of the poster boys prior to that) that is constantly in the news on its own on top of being the only artist in pop music to consistently deliver new material without years break in between. It only benefits her in the streaming era. Edited March 13 by Gladiator

MattieB Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I wanted to say because she's a white girl, but the answer is an extension of that. Shes basically the American dream. White, blonde, thin, blue eyes, makes safe music Why do you think shes in her 30s still making teen booper songs? heck I thought she was 21 up until a few months ago. Shes one of the few artist who haven't been punished for not evolving her sound 1 1

Yawn Posted March 13 Posted March 13 she seems to have cracked the code when it comes to cross-generational appeal to masses of women. usually single and unloveable ones.

redsbae Posted March 13 Posted March 13 . Taylor is the perfect “pop girl”. She’s tall, white, skinny, with blue eyes. She also didn’t take a huge stand on lot of issues (until she cemented her dominance) so she wouldn’t alienate the GP. She played it very safe and it paid off.

It's embarrassing how you guys know literally nothing about South American demographics. As a Brazilian, yes, the majority of Taylor Swift's audience in Brazil is white girls. Now let's wait until you find out what's the race of the majority of the Argentinean population.

Even acts who had debuts that were much bigger than Kesha, like Ashanti, were never really considered MPG.
popularmoonlight Posted March 15 Posted March 15 She has been literally re-releasing her whole catalogue for the past 3 years

She’s way bigger than Ciara 1
