Happylittlepunk Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Like Taylor is not only ahead of so many girls but she direct threat to many male acts too. Taylor streams and sales are insane. I know many people will say it’s because she has a large fanbase and is a talented songwriter. But couldn’t other fan bases say the same thing for their own faves? Beyonce, Gaga, Ariana, Rihanna, Britney, Nicki etc. imo don’t come across as people who have small fanbases and that’s why they can’t pull numbers like her or at least something similiar Like at least 500k + debut week albums. Is Taylor just more ambitious and has a better team? Does Taylor cater to her fanbase more? I’m not a swiftie but I feel like there should be a logical explanation for this. 1 18

Popular Post k4rmabutterfly Posted March 9 Popular Post Posted March 9 Maybe support from different generations (Millenials and Gen Z)? Something similar happened to Adele in the early 10’s when both the older and younger generations stanned her. The new girls don’t have her massive support from millenials, and the older girls don’t have her massive support from Gen Z, so none can really compete with her currently. Of course, she worked A LOT for this tho. 25
Popular Post Blue. Posted March 9 Popular Post Posted March 9 Because she managed to do something that no other pop artist has before which is being both a current and legacy act. Usually pop artists hit a peak, and after then they keep releasing music but only hardcore fans keep following them as the new generations move to current acts. Madonna, The Rolling Stones, U2, they keep touring massively but they cannot have a current hit. The whole re-recording move managed to reconnect her with her long time fans while her new stuff smashes and connects with the new generations, so she has it all: hits, catalog sales, huge tours, you name it. 36 3
