cityfolk Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I know songs often rise on Mondays, but is it normal for new albums to increase on Mondays too?

Zaynsus Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Now that I think of it, it was a smart move from her team to ask Spotify to put yes, and? at #1 on TTH so it can get one last push on the album's release week. WCBF is already smashing on its own so it apparently doesn't need it for now.

If they knew wcbf would smash on its own like this then congrats to Ariana you got a good team now.
SweetenerNostalgia Posted March 12 Posted March 12 5 minutes ago, cityfolk said: I know songs often rise on Mondays, but is it normal for new albums to increase on Mondays too? The numbers are kinda matching sour first week: 1st day — 60,551,255 2nd day — 51,961,845 3rd day — 47,747,211 4th day — 54,337,162 ofc is lower but sour has at that time 3 active smash hits, meanwhile ES has 1 moderate hit and 1 rising hit 2

I think the initial plan was to wait and see the reception for wcbf and they probably thought yes, and? would benefit the most from the album's release.

R.E.M. Posted March 12 Posted March 12 in that meeting she posted with the label execs, she said the second single was going to be the '7 rings' of the era and she spilled I get why 'yes, and?' needed to come first but it almost completely derailed the era 2 1

airplane Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Hate train cancelled Oh wow. She turned everything around in her favour
Brikenbur Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Not me not connecting with this album when I first rushed and listened to it, but finally took some time to listen and EVERY SONG 1
liquiddiamonds Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) Yes, And was a statement single and honestly it worked out in the end. I didn’t see the vision, honestly thought it had slowed her down in the US. It could have gone wrong and killed the hype for the album, but it made people worldwide pay attention to her coming up with a new sound and discovering good pop music that feels more familiar to Ari on ES. The album has been catching around. I’m seeing Imperfect for You more often too Honestly this album is a lesson that artists should just drop the full body and let people do the rest. This drop singles until something sticks after a few albums under the belt is not the way in 2024 (but they need to stick around for promo after release too) Edited March 12 by liquiddiamonds 4

Theluckyone Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Slaying the game, Ari. Word of mouth about how good the album is must be helping. 1
Funnyfatty Posted March 12 Posted March 12 This can surpass the debut numbers if it keeps increasing. 1
