Are you concerned about the decreased activity on atrl?

They only let certain people make threads and the ones who make them normally make boring useless or non thread worthy ones. Meh it'd be more fun if everyone could make threads.and the moderation is heavy and it feels like only one opinion is allowed per thread or it's the threat of suspension. It is what it is but more if not all people should be able to make topics because the ones we get now are of poor quality and dumb things which obviously is gonna drive less participation

The server is more dysfunctional, the rules are more strict, the newer generations of artists do not have the same pop culture impact artists did in the 2000s/2010s to keep things interesting, many users are not far from being middle-aged, younger users are more engaged with other platforms, Rihanna hasn't released...

with the amount of ads raping my phone, the constant crashes, the slow loading... I'm surprised it lasted this long.

Throw in the ban happy mods and data leak that lead to TONS of deleted accounts, and this is what happens.

I'm not able to create a thread anymore without getting warned :clown: The mods are biased when it comes to certain artists.

@Sexyzinger the people have spoken. Times up on the mods. This website ain’t Better Help.

Yeah, speaking as someone who woke up from a lurking slumber and decided to post regularly again, it does feel stagnant, especially outside the Base, but even in the Base stuff like rates isn't that popular anymore. I see that the forum opens the registrations intermittently, but only a handful of new users stick around (many of them just leave a post in that orientation thread and never again), so they can't really replenish the activity and make up for those who left/stopped posting. I guess it's a natural decline, although the forum has its share of technical issues.

That's what happens when you ban people for months over some harmless shade. What kept this forum so alive back in the day were the petty stan wars which were mostly inoffensive. Now it's all about politics

It's sending me that people are blaming not being able to be outright vile and say the craziest most disrespectful things known to mankind and use any slur they want as a reason for why a 25-year-old pop forum with frequent crashes is failing in 2024. The way it makes no sense is sending me.

Listen the thing is most forums have died and are dying. A forum with far more active users than even ATRL peak, Onehallyu, has closed down December 2023. This isn't the only popular forum which had to permanently shut down it's servers.

Things have changed for social media platforms. Instagram is less strict in what it allows but still more people are using TikTok. It's not because you can't be a piece of garbage that it's dying. It's dying because it's a pop forum with a low turn over rate with most of its users being older gay men who now have changed.

ATRL is dying and will be dead. I wont be surprised if servers shut down before 2030. Just enjoy the time you have left here.

1. Pop culture has changed.

2. The new generation dgaf about forums, they didn't really grew up with it.

3. 80% of the time it's people +30 years old fighting over things that happened 10-20 years ago :skull:

No gaga release, no activity :suburban:

In all seriousness, while there certainly has been a decline, this place is surprisingly active for a messaging board created in the 90s with a server that appears to have working office hours. There could be some things that could increase the activity, like idk reopen SYG for example

It might just be me, but I feel like the quality of threads has been really bad since the start of this year, so I haven't been as motivated to browse this site as I used to.

“forums are dying” ATRL was very much active up until recently though

however, the site going down at certain times in the past 1-2 months def killed the activity :rip:

It simply has to do with the fact that celebs are more boring now. They announce everything online and barely promote. :michael:

I mean, there's nothing excited rn, most of pop girls haven't released yet. It should be actived in the upcoming days with Ariana's release and the threads about her flopping or the fans bragging that is doing good :michael:
